grumpyhack
FAST Once dubbed the fastest guitarist in the west and another Grumpy Gonner. Alvin Lee (died 2013) with Ten Years After showing an astonishing burst of speed to end his Woodstock performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bW5M5xljdCI Great bass too from a real power band. oneeye
SAD; not a bad line up this:) The mighty Quo were indeed magic that afternoon, really looked like they enjoyed themselves; marvellous stuff. grumpyhack
STILL I'm Sad A Yardbirds original. Quite an odd mix, almost a Gregorian chant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s675OYPb-Vs Many different versions. I remember Boney M being drafted in as a late replacement at a folk festival after one of the members of the headline band had a family bereavement. And they astonished all the doubters by being very good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJ9KMOFEgvI Edited February 1, 2015 by grumpyhack
oneeye
RAINING; this guy was simply outstanding at Glastonbury last year I saw Bonny M a few years ago at a local festival weekend; fantastic Edited February 1, 2015 by oneeye
grumpyhack
I Can't STAND The Rain Sorry it's Tina (again) but she has to be one of the best live performers of all time. She could generate more energy sitting down than most people leaping about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HekaRBO__b4 Jonny Lang passed me by completely. But that's the problem with Glasto. For every band you see there's 20 you miss. One to look out for. Edited February 1, 2015 by grumpyhack

whisty
Carpet Duke Ellington, live sound, no moving pics unfortunately, but hey it is 1959. Something live and moving for the traditionalists here.
grumpyhack
MAGIC Carpet Ride. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtkP5gTX6Hc I saw Steppenwolf at one of the first festivals I attended - Shepton Mallett in 1969 which mutated into the first Glasto in 1970. This is the song they were best known for after being used in the film Easy Rider. All the Hells Angels at the fest were dancing around like little kids with excitement when they played it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gN6LQ8zgoQ

grumpyhack
MEN At Work An Australian band who enjoyed a short success in the UK but were very good. whisty
Music I'd like to go see this live. Guess it's not to everybodys taste but ground breaking in it's time supposedly. "Reich mentions that although the piece is named Music for 18 Musicians, it is not necessarily advisable to perform the piece with that few players due to the extensive doubling it requires" The album that caught my ear was different Trains. 1st part only Edited February 6, 2015 by whisty
grumpyhack
Love would be a too frequently used connection word so let's go for MILES https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egwARrX1ik8
whisty
Was going to go for See for Miles by you know Who & mention that I'm not really a fan, then played about 10 tracks from the UTube thinking I really like that one. Anyway I used to take great delight in playing this to my kids, who whilst not really kids anymore still scream the house down when one appears, oh my what did I do! So pick See or Spider .
