Ticket questions

Anyone got any idea why Download has gone on sale several months earlier than usual? Is it to try and blow Sonisphere out of the water, or is it for another reason? Earliest Ive ever bought my ticket was last year, at the end of November, and have got no idea why theyve done it differently this time round.

Does this mean that tickets are likely to sell out/sell quicker than usual? Obviously in this time of economic downturn will that even be a factor?

Would I be best off buying a ticket this weekend, or would it be safe to leave it a few months? Reason I ask is that Download has never been like Glastonbury, Reading and V, in that it doesnt sell out within minutes or hours, and previously despite bumper crowds has always had tickets available sometimes even on the day.

Im just skittish that for once it'll take us all by surprise and will sell out early on while regulars like me (9 years in a row and counting hopefully!) are blase about it thinking it never sells out and think we can take our time and apply closer to the time.

For the first time Download has me confused about what to do. Any advice would be welcome.
