5co77ie
They are producing some of the best guitar riffs I've heard in years and believe I've heard a few seeing as I was at Monsters of Rock 1985!!! theramm
In fairness Stone Sour's recent output has been terrible. Audio Secrecy was dire & the new album's got a couple of decent tracks on it but is largely forgettable. Comparisons with other generic US radio rock bands like Nickelback, Saliva & Theory Of A Deadman are apt.

lharris92
I think more people talk about them more now than they did then, mainly as lharris mentions them every other day on here

Deckard69
Oh god, you are proud of 85 - it's a year I stay quiet about apart from Metallica (who were awesome) there was ZZ Top, Marillion, Bon Jovi, and Magnum. It was nearly as bad as 1990 when the main stage had Whitesnake, Aerosmith, and Poison, even when Aersomith returned in 1994 at least we only had Extreme to complain about, and a second stage of good stuff too.. lharris92
Or proof that Inme really are getting less popular?

GuitarManDan15
13 posts and he's making a late surge for douchebag of the year. Congratulations on being around in 85, just means you're going to die before me and i'll get to see loads of things you don't. In response to not calling any of those bands pop, you quoted someone with all of those bands mentioned and said something along the lines of 'if you want pop crap like that go to V'

2rare2die
Gotta say I totally disagree. I think the line up announced so far is the strongest in years. The three headliners are excellent particularly Rammstein and bands like Mastadon, Stone Sour and Volbeat are at the cutting edge of metal. Put with some strong bands like Motorhead, AIC and BFMB you have an exceptional line up. If you want to introduce some pop crap then let them go to Reading, Leeds or the V Festival. Long live Download the 'METAL' festival!!!
2rare2die
Oh and Iharris92 I could do with your help. I've had Overgrown Eden since it first came out, and always liked it, but for some reason never bought any of their other albums. Which one would you recommend for purchase after the first? 2rare2die
I know it's not me your asking, but IMO: Overgrown Eden > White Butterfly > Herald Moth > Daydream Anonymous Haven't really given the latest album The Pride much of a listen to so can't comment. I used to be a big fan, possibly of Iharris92 sized proportions, and still listen to OE occassionally, but I've found their more recent offerings to be something of nothing, though I like the almost Reel big Fish level of cynicism/self depreciation that they found on Herald Moth. Also I met Dave (McPherson, vocals/guitar) at a solo gig in Woking and he didn't seem to have a lot of time for fans.... Though that may just have been because he was in Woking.
