There's always a bit of handy fudging going on with shows these days. I do get a little surprised when I see some shows on a run all advertised as sell-outs with the odd one that doesn't get over the line.

 

Case in point, Springsteen in 2016. Every UK date bar Manchester was deemed a sell-out.

Ticket was £12.50 - high end for those days, probably less than the price of a meal with a drink in the stadium's concession stands now.

In June 1982 I saw Queen at the Milton Keynes bowl on the 5th, Simon & Garfunkel at Wembley Stadium two weeks later, and The Stones at Wembley a week after that. I was a schoolboy, paying for it via pocket money and my paper round.

Yep. We might as well give up. Not many gig runs better than that.

 

My nearest to that was getting Prince and Nine Inch Nails inside seventy-two hours, but that's more for live quality than sheer name.

I don't have a run quite like that, but anecdotally I saw Father John Misty, Patti Smith and Bruce Springsteen all in a row. Each one played Because The Night, which is definitely the first run of shows I've seen different artists do the same song.

That is a nifty one to have in the back pocket. Should have seen Cascada to complete the holy quartet.
