I had some therapy a while ago, and one of the things that kept coming up was how I dealt with my dad and how he left us all with next to nothing when I was about 2 years old. All I could say was, as far as I'm aware, I'm ok with it. It was suggested that I might not be ok with it. So I kind of said "so what?. It's what I know, and I feel ok about it...."

very brief summary.... huh.png

The scapegoating of the BBC by the right wing press and Tory government suggests to me they are trying to deflect the attention away from probable involvment of their own kind. Its easy to blame the people who stayed silent about Saville but with his connections to the conservative party and royal family, you cant blame people thinking it was a fight they couldnt win.

This bit. If people feel vindicated, and have their stories heard, when previously nobody seemed to care, this has to be good.

There may be others, though, who didn't realise that what was happening to them wasn't right, and they might be in a state of denial. How should these people be treated? Are you still damaged if you're unaware that you've been damaged?

I think the very public manner it has all come to light will be very damaging in the long run. Yes some will feel vindicated but eventually the public will lose interest. Already I have heard comments of "I am sick of the Saville thing." Many victims may well find themselves isolated afterwards. Lets face it unless unless fluffy kittens are involved the publics sympathy wears thin quickly. Also there are those that may feel pressured to open up. They may not be in denial but wanting to just move on. Sometimes opening doors can be a bad thing, especially with finite resources.

He's lived in London for years. An old mate of mine I've lost contact with, was a copper and for a while he worked in the child protection unit (or something like that I forget the name - not seen him since circa 2000). One of his jobs within the unit was to regularly check on all the people on the sex offenders register in his area (Westminster). Which basically meant, they'd knock on the door, say hello etc and leave. Just recording the individual was there at the time and date they called.

One of his calls was to a certain Paul Gadd. I remember the most surprising thing in talking to him was just how many people there were on the register in such a small area.

he's not lived in central london for years. He was living in Vietnam at some point since you last saw your mate, cos the papers tracked him down and got him locked up in Vietnam (about 5-ish years ago?) but then realised how foolish they'd been cos he got deported back to the UK afterwards and they hated the thought of him in the UK more than they hated the thought of him abusing kids in Vietnam.

It's because of what went on then that I made my comment. I'm pretty sure that had the papers known he where he was living they'd have whipped up some vigilanties.

No, he lived in London when he was arrested and convicted here years ago. Late 90s early 00s from memory. Before he went to Vietnam.

What I'm wondering is, whether he moved back to the same property in Westminster when he returned.

The police have known where he's been living. So one assumes the press have also known...

i'd guess that the tabloids did know his (old, if it's a different one) address .... as far as i recall it was them hassling him which had him leave the country, and then they were pissed off that they knew he'd left the country but didn't know where he'd gone. Which eventually had them track him down in Vietnam and eventually return here, which pissed them off even more .... you've got to admire them for their moral inconsistancy at least, it takes a special kind of mindless twat to manage that.

He's been so-much tabloid enemy number one that I can't beleive that the tabloids knew his current address, else they'd have been constantly hounding him - and particularly since his name was linked to Savile's (which happened quite a few weeks back now).

-------

I had to laugh at Max Clifford on TV over the weekend. He says he's had loads of 70s music stars contact him, worried about the fact that some of the 'groupies' they might have enjoyed were underage. A good earner for him by the siounds of it.

Apparently newsnight tonight are going to out a senior political figure as a paedophile:

I've just gone googling witha few names that were suggested to me, and i've found a 'source' that documents a paedophile ring at the heart of the UK govt...

Beware. It's the sort of website that'll have you thinking Peter Dow is as straight-up as you are yourself.
