intermitent forums problem

There's currently an issue on the forums, which is intermittently stopping the forums connecting to the database that the forums data is contained within.

This is currently being looked into, and hopefully it will be resolved soon.

In the meantime, apologies for the inconvenience.

Yeah noticed a problem when trying to reply to a post, seems to hang for a bit and says saving post but if left a few seconds and then refresh the page, it posts it.

yep, it's been dong that for me too. It's also giving the 'can't connect to database' message on a fairly regular basis. The activity on all of the servers looks normal, so I'm guessing it's a hardware problem of some kind.

I've got someone looking at it, and hopefully it'll be sorted soonish - tho it might mean that the forums &/or website go offline for a bit.

It might just be me but on a pc or laptop I can't get the normal forums, only the mobile version.

at a guess it's because you've somehow set the mobile skin to be the default one for you.

The easy way is to use the 'change theme' link at the bottom of any forums page.

The slightly better way, which should ensure that you always get the right skin for the device you're using to access the forums is for you to delete the forums cookies within your web browser.
