Australian Festivals

Hi I'm moving to Oz in January and was wondering what experience people have of festies out there? What's best?

I've been to all sorts, Glasto, Leeds, Download, End of the Road, Isle of Wight, Kendal Calling and errr...V, so most guitarry music is ok (Apart from Mumford obviously, but that's not really music I guess).

Unfortunately you're going to find yourself very disappointed. I moved out to Australia two years back after having done the rounds of a few UK festivals like yourself and I was shocked. If you're looking for a true 'festival' experience then there's really only one option and that's Splendour in the Grass. But there are also a multitude of one day festivals that I will be going to myself next year such as Big Day Out and Future Music Festival. There's also a few more alternative festivals such as Harvest or Laneway.
