Floodsin Reading

Yeah the path by the car park that runs down to Tesco is all flooded as well. A couple of years ago the Environmental Agency lowered the level of the Thames a week or so before the festival so I doubt they'll allow it to flood should it look like it in August.

Neil do we think this could affect the festival? don't want to get my ticket for it to be cancelled.

it won't affect the festival unless it floods at around the time of the festival.

It's floodplain, that's what happens with it. It's gravel underneath, so it drains very well.

The only time I can remember it flooding in the summer months was in 2007, when it flooded in mid or late July. Very luckily for the WOMAD festival which had used the Reading site in late July for about 15 years until 2006, that was the year it had moved to a new site in Wiltshire.

Haha. My sarcasm didn't come across too well here. But atleast it's good to know that it rarely floods during the summer months. Bearing in mind it's been raining crazy amounts recenlty it's not too shocking that the site is flooded, i thought it was pretty bad in 2010 for mud/wetness, but that's mainly because i accidentally camped in a ditch.
