How did Todays announcement make you feel?

Hey guys.

So after today's announcement there was a MASSIVE AMOUNT OF HATE on readings facebook page. Mostly from idiots (someone didn't know who Deftones were ¬¬) But in fairness they're was a lot of hype for what wasn't a particuary big announcemnt

so i was wondering how does Efestivals feel?

Deftones is pretty cool. Alt-J might be worth a watch if no one else is on. Sub Focus and BBK are pretty fun but not really my thing so I won't be seeing them. Would've liked a bit more flesh to the announcement tho - a sub, a headliner.

It's a small announcement of minor bands. It makes no difference to me. Deftones are cool, but wouldn't change my mind about whether to go to a fest or not.

Not made me get the plastic out, but then again its not made me think fuck that.

It will be the same as usual, if another festivals(in august) lineup appeals to me before the leeds lineup is announced I will go there.

Thats why I think they have missed a trick here, ticket sales are slower and they could of announced a big chunk of the lineup to entice folk from other festivals.

I'd guess to try and get out there that they're no longer just a rock festival.

My guess is that the March announcement will see a solid and pretty much normal line-up for the Main Stage, so that the regulars still see it as a fest they'll attend.

My daughter, aged 17, said if she was 14 still and heard the announcement, she'd really be wanting to go, and if the uppercard is full of acts that appeal to parents I see it becoming more a 'family with teens' event where you take your little grime monkeys along for a bop about whilst you enjoy the 'heritage' acts. Funnily enough I first went in 1978 with my folks - and I think that's what got me into a life of festivals, what goes around comes around.

I know I am getting too olds for reading/leeds when they announce an nme/radio 1 headliner in Alt-J who I have never even heard of!

Casual Deftones fan, don't really like the rest. I was expecting a big band to be announced, I think deftones are a decent sub-headliner at best.

Will see if the March announcement does anything for me.

Pretty meh on it, yeah I'd say underwhelmed from the chat on here mostly than Reading.

New Stages, meh I rather liked the atmosphere at the Hackney Weekend 1xtra stage this year. (Went in for Dj Fresh and Emeli Sande) was much better than the Dance which had this really horrible atmosphere and dickwads about...which shows both sides of the coin of these tents could attract!

Has put me off a little bit; seeing Deftones at Brixton and saw them on main in '11 so not too interested, and although I like Sub Focus if he's the best on offer that night I won't be paying to see it. Same goes for all the other headliners. Hopefully they get a headliner out soon; although if it's Depeche like I reckon it'll be it won't really sway me considering I'm seeing them at Werchter. Really the only acts I could see swaying me to get a day ticket are Biffy/System.
