No NDH. What can I do instead?

So, sadly, No Direction Home is not happening in 2013. For me, NDH 2012 was as close to perfect as a festival can be, in terms of size, line-up, setting, facilities, vibe. I will of course go to End of the Road as I have for five years, but I would like another festival earlier in the year. Can anyone suggest something that might approach the joy of NDH for me??

You could always pitch your tent near Creswell Crags and explore those for the weekend. The old mining area between Chesterfield and Mansfield has some good "working-mens" pubs, though the local music scene is a bit cover-driven.

Shame but I really hope this doesn't mean EOTR expanding further to perhaps try to recoup the NDH losses.

This is really bad news. I was planning to go next year, especially as I had a ticket for last year but was unable to go due to ill health. EOTR is also a problem, as since the date change it falls on the same weekend as Moseley Folk Festival. I may have to return to Summer Sundae for some festival atmosphere.

Leicester had a decent line-up last year for the money (inc. Agnes Obel), but it was in the centre of Leicester; great for a gig and night out, not for a festival.
