forums upgraded

The forums have just been upgraded to the latest version of the forums software. Hopefully there won't be any issues caused by it, but if you erncounter any problems please let me know with a post here.

Got an error when going to the lower stage acts thread in Reading/Leeds subforum /topic/172326-lower-stages-acts/page-3">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/topic/172326-lower-stages-acts/page-3

I get the following error: "Search is not available as the Sphinx API is not available, please contact an administrator about this issue"

Tried on different pages on the thread, and different browsers, both signed into my account and not.

Only been that thread so far, but I haven't looked at many today.

As far as I'm aware, there's now no major issues related to the upgrade. There's a few minor thing I'm aware of that aren't anything anyone will notice, which I'll resolve next week.

In the meantime if you're aware of an issue, please post the details here and I'll get it sorted as quickly as I can.

Keep seeing things like this when using the forums app.

The quote box doesn't appear in posts so it can be difficult to work out where a quote ends and where the new post/reply starts....

damn .... issues with the mobile skin was something I hoped didn't exist.

I'll get it updated to the latest version, but it might not be until Monday that it gets done.

I've upgraded the mobile skin, but I've done it very quickly - so it's possible I've messed up somewhere. But even if I have, the new version should be an improvement on the old one ... fingers crossed.

Please let me know how you get on with it, either accessed directly or thru the iPhone app.

This quote box still didn't show for me (Neil quoting kaosmark) on the iPhone app

the problem with the badly quoted posts is to do with the mobile skin (which is also used with the iPhone app).

I submitted a support ticket with the forums software makers yesterday about this, but am still waiting for them to get back to me. While I'm waiting I'll take a look and see if there's anything I might be able to do about it.

yep, it's fixed.

There's still an issue for mobile skin users, because what is a quote within a post is not distinct from the words which follows a quote. I'm still looking into this part, and hope I can fix it shortly.

Hmmmm ..... I've recreated the mobile skin again, to ensure that its properly up-to-date for the new forums version and its still not differentiating the quotes from the new words in a post.

I'm going to have to wait on the software makers to get that fixed.

The mobile skin quote box issue should now be sorted, so all of the issues with the mobile skin (and so the iPhone app too) have now been sorted as far as I'm aware.

If you're still having any issues with the mobile skin you need to clear your browser's cache (or with the iPhone app, to clear any cached data within that if you're able to).

If you're still having problems after clearing the cache please let me know with a post here.

I need someone to link me to a post where they've included a smiley but where it's not displayed.

Anything else is useless for trying to track down what the issue is.
