Well having System & Eminem headline makes the line up seem a little dated, hell if it was 2001 I'm sure people would be going mad for it. Add to that whilst Biffy might be a headline sized band now, that massive tour will put a lot of people off forking out for another chance to see them.

Actually, that sounds exactly like something R&L would book, so maybe you're right.

Yes they played in 2001 but that was 12 years ago!

V had the Killers play 3 times in 6 years

TITP had Kasabian come back after 2 years, and Snow Patrol after 3 years

It does annoy me when Reading repeat bands lower down e.g. Enter Shikari and Crystal Castles, but headliner wise you cannot say that it is repetitive and boring

Very true. But at least RATM were riding the first wave of reunion hype & Metallica are established as one of the biggest constant touring heavy bands in the world. Add to that the Killers, who at the time were at their peak commercially & it's not hard to see why that sold well.

Where as System have nothing new to offer since their Download headline set, Biffy subbed Download last year & are undertaking a MASSIVE tour in the Spring & Eminem is hit & miss live & has certainly divided opinion on whether he should have been booked again... & then the organisers sit around scratching their heads wondering why it's not an instant sell out, deary me.

Fuck yeah! Really can't see SOAD not playing now... SOAD and Biffy as headliners = absolutely incredible. PS again to people saying they can't headline... they're one of the biggest metal bands of all time and it would only be their second and third UK dates within 8 years so the demand will be there.. will be very shocked if they sub.

Was that at Reading or Leeds? Seem to remember them having to stop their set for a while at Leeds because of the front barriers collapsing, but they've since moved the main stage (due to the chaos in '09) and put in the second barrier in place, so they may feel the safety issues have been addressed.
