mrtourette
Would you prefer it if I used the term " less heavy guitar band that couldn't headline Download/Sonisphere" instead? "Indie" is much snappier.
SOAD
Soooo chuffed about this... one of my top three fave bands headlining Reading If we have SOAD that will be two of the top three... and then if we get Brand New lower down the bill (has to be possible) we will have all three
Justiceforcedave
I know there are a lot of haters but they were great headlining Soni in 2011. If their album is as big as their last (or bigger) then Reading could have nailed a good name for the festi. Does make me wonder if the 3rd headliner will be an "indie" headliner now. mrtourette
Yeah I wasn't refering to Biffy, I was talking about the 3rd act being "Indie" and was then accosted for my use of the word. You were right, this thread is more trouble then it's worth. I'm outta here!
kev1664
The Vertigo Of Bliss and Infinity Land are absolutely incredible albums, constantly breaching the line of pure pop and weird as fuck. then came Puzzle, which at the time i loved, but looking back is a pretty average album of stadium rock, and then came Only Revolutions which was even worse. such a shame to see a band take such an un-subtle turn towards the mainstream

Frankly Mr Shankly
It doesn't excite me, not really my cuppa tea, I find them bland. But they've earned their way to the top, which is more than can be said for some bands. PDAD
Especially when over 100,000 people will be seeing them on their arena tour over the next few months. I agree with Frankly that they deserve a shot but for FR's sake I hope they've got a damn good sub and NME headliner.
Lost_addict
AS much as i enjoy Biffy I just don't picture them as a headlining band. I'm sure if i go i'll enjoy them live but as of right now it's a tad underwhelming.

mrtourette
I dont think theyre any worse than Kasabian last year...but yeah, like Kasabian had with Florence, i agree theyll need a relatively strong sub..

thewayiam
Why does everybody keep saying this? Biffy could easily be the "indie" headliner, just at the slightly heavier side of it. (Infact I am starting to think, since indie landfill is dead, we should just stop using the term.) Anyway good to see them TBC SOAD on the other night and foals against Eminem and they have me considering a ticket!
PDAD
That a tough one for me to be impartial on, and Kasabian were proven major festival headliners unlike Biffy, but at the very least I don't think Kasabian had done a tour since the previous Nov/Dec. Biffy's tour lasts until April this year and will be in full swing when they're announced, I imagine that means they'll be less excitement about seeing them at the festival and it will have an effect on ticket demand. On the flip side people could come out of a gig thinking "wow, where can I see them again next?" and go straight out and buy an R&L ticket, but I think they're more likely to say "meh, Biffy, I'm already seeing them next week" when they're announced. FloorFiller
Biffy have definitely earned their place as a headliner. it's just a shame that their performances on their most recent tours seem to be ALL Only Revolutions / new material. i'm pretty sure i've seen setlists of theirs in which they play Only Revolutions in it's entirety. i understand that bands want to showcase their newer material but playing an album almost in full and playing just one or two songs off of previous albums is a joke, especially when they only have five (soon to be six) albums to choose from. i imagine their Reading headline setlist will be half Only Revolutions, half Opposites and then maybe a couple of the previous four albums songs stuck in their
Chinaski_
Neither headliners do anything for me, especially not Biffy, boring and are always around. Seen them before at festivals and they've bored me. Really hope Alt J aren't headlining against them.
jump
Have to say, with them 3, they also have me too considering a ticket. I just feel that loads of twats will turn upto Eminem for the day and wreck it a bit. I loved him at V but it was full of dicks, especially during Rihanna actually

Millar95
I wouldn't call myself a Biffy fan but imo when I saw them headline at Soni I thought they put on the best headline show, which is very impressive when the other headliners were Slipknot & Metallica. PDAD
A few people I know went to Soni '11 and said exactly the same thing, and none of them are particularly big Biffy fans.
Seanoooo
Pretty disappointed tbh with that, like a few songs but thats it.
