Asdaprice
I don't think the Prodigy were rumoured but regardless... 3rd headliner going by that kerrang quote surely has to be sabbath, LP, or Metallica. I'd say those 3 are the only ones that are similar yet bigger then systems style of music. I'd rule out prodigy for this 1, just my gut instinct. Prodigy will sub someone. mrtourette
I'm not usually one for all that 'if x play I'm going to cry/cum in my pants/die happy' bullshit, but I will say that if Linkin Park headline I'm liable to shit my pants with amusement. 2rare2die
Obviously the 3rd headliner is Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, they have reform hype and they toured with System!!!
Yellow_Fellow
If Linkin Park headline, the only possible retribution is to have My Bloody Valentine headline the tent that night.

dentalplan
I think SOAD and Linkin Park have played a different day of the same festivals a couple of times no longer than two years ago. You can't really get Linkin Park from what John Dolmayan said. No pants shitting today boys.
seanthomason123
I'd be willing to put money on the 3rd headliner being one of the following: AC/DC, Linkin Park or Blur.

The Placid Casual
There will be more people in the NME tent if Linkin Park headline, even if it is Alt J along side them Edited February 15, 2013 by WessexBoy
insideaway
Linkin Park/Biffy/Eminem seems abit weak to me dont think it would sell well enuff tbh. However not sure if any of the touted headliners would do to be fair.

Duw13
The fact SOAD said they're playing because of this band implies it's a pretty legendary band. I wouldn't think that'd be Linkin Park or The Prodigy. Blur's looking unlikely despite how much I'd love it to be them. Based on the SOAD thing alone it could be someone like Sabbath, Metallica, AC/DC, Led Zep, The Who. Out of them I think only The Who or AC/DC would fit the Reading mould, and only the last three'd get me excited personally.

kev1664
Metallica and Sabbath fit the Reading mould far better than The Who.
mrtourette
It's more then their tour that rules them out, even of they weren't ruled out by dates it would still be a preposterous suggestion.

The Placid Casual
I disagree Linkin Park's music seems to be really popular and I know a lot of people who dont really like their genre who listen to them. I would think they are just as popular as Blink were last time they headlined.
adam1234
I dont think the who tour rules them out as it is a quadrophonia tour. If the who played greatest hits set at r&l then it is possible. However I really doubt they would be able to get them. If it is AC/DC it would be unbelievable, but again I highly doubt they could get them. So I think Tallica or sabbath

thewayiam
Have to say guys, think we're looking at AC/DC (the slim chance) and Linkin Park. Money is on Linkin Park. Metallica have no new album to promote, no reason to believe they are here this year, I've not seen, I might be wrong? a Euro fest announced for them yet? I don't know of RATM having any previous tour history with SOAD, one I think it would've been mentioned on here and two, when SOAD started out, RATM weren't even still going as far as I'm aware. They wouldn't care about Blur, not to the point to play under them. I have never predicted these for this year though and even when I've had a blank to fill in I've been skeptical. Sabbath aren't in the country. They are doing the U.S. as far as the last news went and back in europe Nov/Dec time. Note that should The Prodigy sub then Linkin Park had them on their american tour as sub for some dates a while ago. Not to mention that Linkin Park are also one of Biffy's previous touring topping bands. This is not to say I think they will. Linkin Park SOAD Foals ? BMTH Alt-J Eminem Bloc Party Deftones ? Wu-Tang Clan Frank Turner Biffy Clyro Fall Out Boy Vampire Weekend Editors You Me At Six I've put Deftones there instead of SOAD day as to not put too much metal that day. i think Biffy playing a different day to SOAD is exactly what R&L bookers want as they know it'll generate more day than weekend for it. dentalplan
2003 at Reading too. Linkin park headed to Blink, SOAD subbed to Metallica (this is why I don't think it'll happen this time). They did it in fairness for Pulp/The Strokes from 2002 but I don't think there was a co-headline back then. Just 1st and 2nd. adam1234
If r&l manage to get AC/DC that would be massive for the festival! Surely they would be too expensive?
