True, but what I meant was from the festivals perspective, wouldn't they think an element of "oh we had the press/hype with their secret slot last year and so many thousand people saw them". I dunno, but like I said, I just would find it abit weird if I was the organiser. I'd want variety. Still good booking though should they get it.

People who went last year couldn't all fit into the tent and they didn't play Leeds. There was a rumour that Green Day didn't enjoy playing R&L before that so it could of been the case of it being a chance to butter them up for the future. A good booking is very debatable imo, they still have their non-sold out London date aswell as coming off the frotman having breakdown and 3 dud albums.

Yeah, true I guess.Regarding the good booking thing, I guess I see things differently. When I go to a fest I like the headliners to be classic, the kind that has songs everyone knows, and know how to perform with energy and intensity. Green day also haven't been playing too much new stuff live (and god forbid if they tried to do do's or tres live....). Plus they haven't played a uk fest headline slot in a while. Your arguably "good" bookings, like arctics with their succesful 2 albums about to promote their "exciting" 3rd.....were shit. Didn't energise the crowd, looked bored, and played terribly. KOL, bad as well. Obviously there's other factors, blink sung terribly despite being an old classic to degrees, and chili peppers were practically having a hissing fit on stage, but green day look like the still perform. I'd prefer that then a headline slot to a band off 1 or 2 albums

That doesn't really change that Green Day are on a bit of nose dive lately and lots of bands fit your description better.

Who said Artic Monkees & Kings Of Leon were/are good bookings? As for the complaint about hissy fits from Chili Peppers didn't Billie Joe throw a hissy fit at a fest which kick started his rehab thing and canned tour dates?

True, but seeing as Green Day are the most heavily rumoured I thought I'd talk about them.....

Loads of people have said they are good bookings, the comments I make aren't all directed at you. Although I would find it interesting to see who you do think would be a good booking, because you seem to most suggestions? Other then AC/DC?

RHCP was a band on potential break up hissy fit, they all looked pissed at each other. Billie Joe was just a drug fuelled incident at Justin Bieber, not the band. Plus he's coming out of rehab. I'm gonna assume he'll be OK and the band chemistry will be fine, but if not then yes, they're fucked.

Let me change that statement to multiple times a year you get carried away when hearing a rumour (like right now with how you're saying NIN are playing NME) from a very weak source and I was reminding you what normally happens in this situation that it turns out to be false before you get any more excited.

Also the phrase is putting words into peoples mouth.
