"Guys, I'm totally stocked for this one, ever since the Christmas number 1 chart battle back in 2009 interest has been ripe & we can now exclusively reveal the last headliner for Reading & Leeds is...

I CAN ALMOST SEEEEE IT, THAT DREAM I'M DREAMING

Yes, X-Factor winner Joe McElderry on a World wide festival exclusive."

I would over look my hatred for the man & love Zane Lowe forever if it's Rage & he did that as a joke.

Just been told by a mate who's sister works for a music magazine that the final headliner is Green Day, obviously take it with a pinch of salt as she's probably just speculating but apparently she gets it right every year, we shall see!

Personally I'm crossing my fingers for Pearl Jam, would be so cool.

I know it's been the in-house rumour at a certain mag that begins with K for 6 weeks or more.

It could well be right, but it wouldn't be the first time that the supposedly in-the-know people have been wildly wrong.

It occurred to me earlier today that perhaps the non-appearance of other GD shows when they were expected to be announced could be because they got signed up to do Reading/Leeds.

Can't sqaure that with their London date though, and Melvin's preference for a band not to play open air gigs around Reading. They hasn't sold out their own gig either, so can't see where the demand would be for people to go to Reading. So commerically, it would be an unwise decision by the festival...

Any news on Sabbath?

yeah, I don't disagree. It seems an odd one if it's them.

I've heard nothing since the original bit, aside from the same guy getting in touch to specifically mention he'd heard nothing further so reckoned it was a dead'un (which was the point it got downgraded to rumour).

Ha. Thats what 3 substandard albums in a row over 2 months will do for you!

I think if they didn't have their emirates show, and they had one album last year with all the good songs in it which was a hit, then they'd be perfectly acceptable as a headliner.

As it is, it'll be a commercial risk which i can't see paying off.
