kaosmark2
I enjoyed Miike Snow at Bestival. Bought the first album after and it's OK.
Amy Lawn
Would being a scouser be a valid enough reason ?
kaosmark2
Yes, you awful person. Aww, cute. I detest you too And those albums are alternative, because "alternative" does not cover only good stuff, there's boring turgid crap too. Chinaski_
'Alternative' is an empty term these days, sadly. It was an American term to describe bands that were an alternative to the mainstream, ie college rock bands (Husker Du, Replacements, REM etc), but post-Nevermind, major labels were desperate to sign up anything that sounded similar and label it 'alternative'. What it means today exactly, I don't know. You see stadium bands like Muse and Coldplay being called 'alternative rock'.
jump
Isn't the problem that people use the word alternative too much leading it to be diluted rather than alternative music is mainstream nowadays?
