Normally I would be pissed off about another thread ending up this way but I guess at least efests is predictable... we're always gonna end up with Gazza being self involved, and demonstrating a distinct need to be a martyr, as well as people calling him out on stuff... guess it's the norm now...

Yeah in studio it's just the three, but they have a second guitarist for Simon's multiple guitar lines live.

Mike Vennart from Oceansize has been a touring/session guitarist for them for a while, but as far as I am aware they are still a 3-piece.

ahhh, perhaps it's something like that then. It's possible that they've got a different person to Mike on board now, from picking apart the vague thing I was told.

There have been rumours he isn't touring with them anymore but I don't see why not... Oceansize are done and he seemed to enjoy touring with Biffy.

I watched an interview with them on youtube last night and they said on tour they are a 5 piece.

I'm pretty sure there's been a personnel change of some kind sometime recently, so perhaps the change is with that 5th member?

I really like Oceansize but he did look a bit out of place with Biffy, when you saw them live it looked like Biffy Clyro and an accountant.

Maybe (if the rumours are true) he had to move on for what ever reason, hopefully to reform Oceansize!

Biffy Clyro are a three piece at their core but have Mike Vennart and Gambler from Oceansize/British Theatre for live shows. Mike does guitar, Gambler does keys. This hasn't changed.
