Erm, he played rock en Seine the same weekend as well. It's completely plausible he thought they were 3 completely different festivals. I'm pretty certain he doesn't do the bookings himself and just leaves that to management.

He's played Leeds fest before and he's played reading fest before. Doesn't mean you know they're the same. Especially when he last played 6 years ago, I'm sure those gigs werent half as memorable for him as they were for people watching. When you're touring festivals, I'm sure they all appear very similar to the artists.

Interview with Josh homme on Xfm on Friday. They played a snippet asking if he had ever played bennecasim before when referring to their appearance he said I have know idea. I generally don't remember where I've played.

I think it's common for the acts not to know as most of the time it's just another tour date for them. It'll only really matter to bands who know of the festival itself and who generally take an interest in these things.

Bringing this back for a moment, just seen this on tumblr, said by Ben Johnston apparently, now Trent seems like an even mardier lil bitch

I'm not defending Trent's tweet, but I wouldn't judge him more harshly because of comments from other people.

I can understand is why Trent wants to get back at the organisers and Biffy by throwing a tantrum, refusing to play his planned setlist and sulking through his set but what he seems oblivious to is that he pisses a percentage of his fans off too.

Surely he could have somehow got back at the organisers without taking it out on the fans.

I dunno, I liked the Reading setlist, although I wouldn't have minded the Leeds one either.

I'm gutted I didn't get to see both. The Frail, The Wretched, Hand That Feeds, Reptile, loads of great stuff Leeds got that we didn't.

Mind you, we got the new songs, Me I'm Not, Somewhat Damaged and Sanctified, so I reckon I went to the right one.

Even I was a bit disappointed with the Leeds setlist to be honest. No Hurt, Closer, Only, Mr Self Destruct (My favourite NIN song), or anything off the new album. Seems like he had a quick change there but at least it was better than the Reading setlist

if they'd announced their tour when it was supposedly planned to be announced i would have tried to get a ticket.... but i really couldn't care less any more. the bitching about other bands/promoters - not just in the UK and not giving a fuck about people who are interested etc just makes me think they don't deserve anything in return.
