jadel74
Thinking 'no' on the Kanye. If they have a repeat 2011 headliner, it'll be Arcade Fire. Also, got a boardie confirmation for Aluna George.
jadel74
FWIW, the Replacements are accepting offers for 2014 festivals.

jadel74
RE: the Replacements--no idea what slot, but they're asking for (IMO) a shit ton of money. Rumor is $500-$700k. Seems a bit pricey to me.

jadel74
May I ask out of curiosity how you attain this information? Sorry if you've explained before Edited October 18, 2013 by jadel74
Tobieski
Ah okay, don't worry that's a lot better than most of the people who claim they have "inside information" on these forums.

jadel74
That is sort of what I was told; the Stones kept saying maybe maybe maybe, etc. Goldenvoice wanted them to commit; they said they weren't going to sign a commitment, and GV finally had to just go with someone else. Also, Holy Ghost seems to have sort of self confirmed. He was asked if he's playing Coachella, and his response was "uh..I'm contractually obligated not to say." Tobieski
Weren't RHCP a last minute addition? I'm pretty sure they said that in an interview?

jadel74
From what I understand, RHCP were in talks for months but didn't sign until the day the lineup was released. No idea if that means that GV was keeping them on the line in case the Stones didn't work out or if that was a separate issue from the Stones mess. dentalplan
Are Depeche Mode out? It looks like they've pulled out of a fair few festivals.
jadel74
If they're out, I haven't heard anything. Arcade Fire, Warpaint, and Fuck Buttons are in. Mogwai looks likely based on the tour dates they released this morning.
thewayiam
Surely if daft punk are accepting fest slots, coachella will chuck it at them to get them. I see arcade and depeche mode very strong at the minute
jadel74
Yesterday I scanned the DM Home board and I'm starting to think DM may not happen at Coach. The mods over there are saying that the decision was made in August to not continue their tour past the last show they have scheduled in Russia in March. Not to say that they won't do a festival one-off, but it looks like they won't be doing another US leg like we had previously thought (and that they had previously said they would be doing). Barring some catastrophe, Arcade Fire are a lock, as are NIN. NO idea who the third headliner would be if it's not DM. One of the guys in Cage the Elephant is claiming that the festival organizers were going hard after Outkast. Who knows...maybe this is the year.
