Fusion Festival Birmingham

Just found out about this today as Birmingham Mail did a piece on it.

It takes place 31st August-1st September and it says expects 60k attendence.

Non camping event, sounds like just one stage sadly, and the line up is being announced this Monday on Capital FM which im kinda guessing makes it that this festival isn't going to be one for me, but its good that the area is getting something, Birmingham has been long overdue an outdoor festival since Soundstation didn't make it past 1 year in 2006, which was a shame as it had a good line up, 2 stages and was only £20.

Anyway this is priced at £35 a day or £60 the weekend

heres the website http://thefusionfestival.co.uk/

oh and forgot to say it supports the Prince's Trust with £5 of each ticket [im guessing weekend] going to the charity.

So... what kind of crap do we expect to turn up here then, Im guessing its gunna be something like JLS headlining...

probably Scouting For Girls on the bill somewhere, I hope it gets a bit of mainstream indie, if they added a dancetent too might be worth a visit

Just found out Jessie J is headlining Saturday. A ''big name American R&B star'' is to headline Sunday.

One of Britains biggest boy bands will be playing too but its not One Direction, rumour is its JLS. A recent X Factor artist is also on the bill.

YUP this really doesn't sound like one for me, and only 20 acts will be on the bill. Good for people in the area who like this kinda music though.

EDIT - Just looking at Sundown Festival the same weekend and Jessie J is headlining Sunday with JLS subbing so that will probably be the Saturday at Fusion Fest and Rita Ora is on the Saturday with Example playing too, so I expect that will be the Sunday at Fusion Fest.

Also I reckon Union J, The Wanted and Lawson will be there.

Yup Im defo not going. Shame.

Shame cus Birmingham could really do with a great festival. Surprised theres nothing do by any council around here putting on a free/cheap fest, closest is Godiva in Coventry and I don't even know if its going ahead this year after being called off last year -EDIT - yes they are, just checked.

Arts fest is pretty cool and that's free. Levs played it a few years ago, that was mega. Not really a music fest though I suppose, but loads going on, comedy and unknown bands wise.

This Fusion one sounds totally lame. Like really lame. As past caring says, a 'music' festival for people who don't like music..ha

Yeah Reverend and the Makers shocked me with how good they were (seeing them at Bearded Theory in May) Athlete were decent too. Last year was rubbish I heard, I wasnt there for it though. Wonder what they'll do this year
