Matt42
Sorry for the annoying topic by the way, no this is not me suggesting them for 2014, but I just wanted to ask. I heard that the last time they played reading... 2007 I believe? Their set was so bad that no other UK festival has wanted to book them since? I wasn't there and I can't see much of it on youtube? But why was it so bad? Don't worry i'm not a chili's fan so you can bash them as much as you want! They are also playing coachella next weekend, reckon they are gonna f*ck that up too? Areophobia
I wasn't there that year either but supposedly every sub outshone the headliner that year.

foolee
if you you were there you would know.... so so so bad
Asdaprice
that nme article was the start - but it obviously put them in a shit frame of mind for the rest of the show. Plus they were knackered from years of touring non stop, and John wanted to leave the band. No surprise they had such a long break after those shows, and I think they'll be fine at Coachella. But they are getting old and their shows have lost some of the energy

kev1664
Ah, so the sound was the problem not the set list, preformance, attitude, piss taking constant jam sessions, over-anticipation and just being plain old shit then.
Andy0808 v3.0
They were on the final leg of that tour. probably why they seemed uninterested unprofessional i know, but a possible explanation
alex28
I was there and i don't believe it was anywhere as bad as people make out. It was great to see them live but yes i was slightly disappointed as I thought they would be better. Also, they didn't play Under The Bridge which pissed off everyone. I would say Arctic Monkeys and KOL were worse headliners.

lightning1000
Kings of Leon were perfectly fine at Leeds. Nothing amazing. But by no means worse than rhcp, razorlight, arctic monkeys. It was reading they sucked balls. Also I really hated radiohead, the most self indulgent set I've ever seen at a festival. Whereas at reading they looked amazing
VCK
KOL RHCP Arctics In order of least shit performance to most shit performance. They were all shit performances though.

Areophobia
Hang on are people getting 07 and 09/10 confused here with the Arctics/KOL/AF reviews? And lightning, I agree with you regarding the Radiohead set at Leeds. @Kev - I feel your pain. I was, and still am, casually into Radiohead, and was trying to convince the mates I was with that they were worth seeing. After about 30 mins my mates thought it was too much and left. I watched the end on my own, but kind of wished I hadn't. When I came back and saw the "Greatest Hits" set they did at Reading I was pissed. And Arctics after the Prodigy was a silly booking - a real let down. Its not the same, but Chase and Status followed by Eminem will work MUCH better this year, imo. alex28
I'm not surprised you thought they weren't that bad if you're setting the bar as low as just seeing them live is great
