The 'New Listener' help thread

So basically, with so many artists that a lot of people will not have heard of on the lower stages, I thought we could concentrate everyone who's found a band on the lineup that they really like, and everyone who wants to recommend a band from the lineup to others, into a single thread.This will be a place to discus the best albums and songs from some of these bands, and will hopefully help some people discover some new favourites

For me, ive been very impressed with what I've heard from Frightened Rabbit, The Family Rain and (thanks to someone on here) Mikill Pane, all of whom I am now looking forward to seeing

I checked out Kodaline yesterday, and they're one that have impressed me a lot. High Hopes is really nice, remind me a bit of James Vincent McMorrow

I like the idea, mainly cause i've not heard of a great number of acts this yeat. So far sinse the annoucement i have enjoyed California x, king prawn, kodaline and frightened rabbit. Still don't get skrillex tho.

Also not heard temples on record but theywhere good supporting suede so will hopefully be able to catch them again.

Who are these likely to clash with on main stage? Will I be able to watch them and NIN?

Also, I presume Jim Jones Revue will clash with NIN

Quicksand are pretty good post hardcore. And Parquet Courts' debut album is brilliant, definitely the highlight of the last announcement

And So I Watch You From Afar and Arcane Roots I've discovered since the announcement and both sound brilliant.

I'd also recommend Merchandise to anyone.

Charlie XCX on the dance stage is pretty good. Been listening to her new album quite a bit

Arcane roots are my favourite that I haven't listened to before, and chvrches are good. I thought Kodaline were quite shite

I love dance and I think it's shit. If they truely wanted to appeal to dance fans, I don't know why they didn't get Hospitality to do a takeover, even Annie Mac Presents, or give it to a club like WHP, Motion or Fabric. For casual dance fans, more into commercial dance, it's fairly decent (of course not much on the dance lineup is actually dance) but if you're an actual dance fan, which is surely who they've tried to appeal to by expanding, it just doesn't rate.
