i've never been to V, but i've been to Leeds Festival for the past 3 years and they have fantastic things to do after the arena closes, DJ's on in the camp sites until after 5am, Piccadilly party, silent disco, fairground etc etc, just wondering if V (staffordshire) also has stuff to do after the acts have finished in and around the camp sites?

Nope.

I haven't been since 2010 but went for 7 years between 2001 and 2010 and theres not a lot, basically everything shuts down at 11pm. There isn't even the Strongbow tent anymore. From the last time I went there's a tent at the end of camping between the camp and arena that goes on until early hours playing tunes, about the same size as the 24 breakfast/noodle bar that does the fests, thats open space and is called Bar Bar Bar.

There used to be a Carling branded pub in the campsite too and some years they have a silent disco in camp but I don't know if any of this goes on still.

The fairground runs on in the arena until early hours but not as late as other fests and the 3rd stage shows films. 2 on Friday and 2 on Sat, nothing Sunday.

Literally went back to the tent and went to sleep or had a couple of beers! It was Staffs I went to and they've majorly stripped it back to very little now and charge more. After the headliners finish, the site shuts down. There used to be a campsite silent disco and a carling tent that had music etc. but that all went as well although they introduced a silent disco inside the arena last time but you had to pay £10 deposit for the headphones and the queue was an hour and a half when we went to get in it (Friday) because there's not much else to do.

At Hylands there is some stuff to do just outside Red campsite (part of a fairground and silent disco (think it was done by Red Bull last year)) and yeah the films. Not sure if the rides next to the arena stage are still open when the films are going on. Plus Southern Comforts bar was that side last year (not sure when that closed). The "village" is open for a bit as well after the last act... or you could just go back to the campsite ha

Why not camp? Get no sleep, get your tent knifed and wake up to piss on your tent (from the bad reviews of what I have heard about caming at V)

After 11pm I think we will end up just following the crowd to see what they do then go back and try to find our tent

To be fair to say there is absolutely nothing is a bit incorrect, however it is not on the scale of Leeds and you can't even compare it to Glasto!

Things to do are bands finish (based on last year):

  • Main arena does keep open as few bars near orange exit kept open
  • Carling bar tent (used to be Strongbow bar) becomes silent disco
  • I'm sure the new cocktail bar near the food area stayed open for few hours
  • Films on Friday and Saturday night
  • Fun fair in arena
  • Outside the arena Bar Bar Bar went last year booo but there is a bar along there that keeps serving along with some food areas
  • My house does not open late I'm afraid as they tend to herd everyone away from that area so they can clean up

Personally we used to have a few beers in the arena part, collect some cups (I don't care if people think this is sad as it covered our food bill over the last few years), then up to the camp for a few more beers and chat with the neighbours on the day's activities or talking nonsense which is common at this point lol.... this was enough for me as usually knackered from all day drinking/bouncing about anyway
