After the arena shuts...

Does anything actually happen at Reading these days after the arena closes at midnight? Is there any late-night entertainment in the campsite? I'm quite tempted by this year's lineup but can't imagine going to a festival that doesn't have anything happening throughout the night.

Late night stuff is just an added bonus if it exists, if you like the line up go.

I've been to 5/6 readings now and me and my friends always amuse ourselves after the headliner, not in the dickish I've drunk 3 strongbows lets riot and be hollister wearing c**ts sense, just drink some beers talk about the bands we've seen go for a wander round the campsite and see if anything cool is happening, there always is :)

So yeah if you like the Line up go, then in the evening grab some beers and wander round the campsite, yeah they'll be some dicks but you may find something cool and have a laugh, everyone is in the same boat with no 'after hours activity' so they'll always be 'story-worthy' things to find :D

More people socialising between camps at Reading than I have seen at any other festival.

The walkways around the campsites are always heaving with activity.

Its a different kind of entertainment & I quite like the change of socialising/abusing randoms after a few cans of Brothers in the evening.

Sounds bad & you can do it elsewhere but I always find the silent DJ at Reading to be good fun.

Yeah,I agree with this.

Reading does offer very little for entertainment.

But it's never been a problem at all, I always have a laugh in the evenings and invariably manage to stay at the Silent Disco til 4 without realising where the time has gone.

There isn't much. But it's a festival, it's not exactly difficult to have fun! :D

I just don't like that you pay more for a ticket but there's is less overall entertainment than Bestival. I have however never come across anyway saying they were having a crap time or were bored due to there being no entertainment in the evening. The campsite at night is buzzing & loud.

Go find the Porta-Rave, sit on the hill, chat up some jail bait, cage wrestling in the security barriers, usually a drum band playing on stolen metal bins, sneak into Oxfam tent by lifting up the corner, make a massive fire & do some Fire Trolley if those things still go on.

There's a few things in the arena such as a few movies and djs on in the Alternative Stage/Festival Republic stage however the main entertainment is in the campsite.

After a headliner as finished just follow everyone else back to the campsite and you'll be able to sneak in no problem.

There's Piccadilly Party/Relentless Stage which are both outdoor stages which you'll be able to without queuing/checks. PP is mainly like festival anthems music and the relentless stage is mainly EDM dubstep/house/drumnbass.

There's also the silent disco but you do have to queue and you get searched when going in, I'm not sure if they'll check your wristband but if they do you'll get thrown out
