UEF
It's going to be rammed for Brian Cox
pie_and_a_pint
It's in the Crow's Nest - top of the Park
MrZigster
Did anyone here go to this? I was in the vicinity (right at the top of the park), but thought all of this University of Glastonbury stuff would still be where it was in '11 so headed off down the hill, only to find that it wasn't and was actually where I had just come from. I took one look back up the hill and thought "there's no way I'm going back up that hill again". The audience had already outgrown the tent by the look of things. So, was it any good? What was it? Oddone
Biggest disappointment of Glastonbury. Im a big dude, but I love Brian Cox. So I hauled ass from Kidney Mead to the Crows nest with 30 mins to spare to find the place already full and building up out the place. Severly pissed off. Sat down and refused to leave until I had drunk all the booze we had with us. Just standing at the back of the mass of people we couldnt hear anything, just the Park blaring some shit. lauroar
I went to this - it was Jon Michinson (head of research) doing a talk about the research process behind QI (QI researcher = dream job) - 10 rules they follow he claimed but he didn't really keep to that and rambled around and about a bit. Was quite good though, with lots of amusing/interesting facts and anecdotes. Funniest thing was the group in front of us turned up expecting Jon Richardson (the comedian). I was going to correct them until they proceeded to whip out about 6 chairs/stools from god knows where, completely blocking the view of 1/3 of the tent behind them (who were all sat on the floor). jameshunt
About 6 of us turned up expecting Jon Richardson. Turned out he wasn't on the bill, but we'd got there early and once we'd set up our stools and chairs we had a great view.* * only joking! I'd have probably gone if it was Stephen Fry and a full panel of QI though.
Ruwise
I was there about 80 minutes before Prof Cox and it was already ridiculous so we sacked it off and went bimbling instead.
