Didn't Giddings say he was against booking headliners who were playing large mainland gigs?

he did, and I've heard of similar repeated by those around him quite a few times since then. From what's announced so far it looks like he's largely succeeded.

But he can only book from the bands that are suitable and available to be booked, and if that's meant he's had to compromise on exclusivity on one band that probably wouldn't be a dreadful result in his eyes.
