Anyone think the final headliner could be Coldplay? Haven't done anything in the UK for a while and a new album must be on the horizon

I read that the Pinkpop promoter has said he is still in talks with the Rolling Stones about a possible show there. That's a week before IoW and Giddings used to (or maybe still does) have business links with the Stones didn't he? It's fairly unlikely but it might be worth thinking about.

There was a big deal made out of todays announcement but Mondays they are announcing the final headliner whilst also announcing another chunk of acts, IF it was Coldplay or the Stones it would be a stand alone announcement

it will be KOL with somw other acts thrown in to ppease the moaners

I'd say there's something seriously wrong if they are having to please moaners knowingly.

The Red Hot Chilli Peppers are the biggest act at IOW 2014 this year.

They wouldn't do this for the 'second' biggest band at the fest.

I think them not doing a festival since 2007 is what makes them feel a bit more exclusive.

Well the Stones have headlined before, so yeah clearly its a viable booking.

You'd have thought they wouldn't make such a fuss about this one if they had the Stones lined up, mind.

No. I said it might not go ahead next year if this year sold poorly again, which it probably won't now.
