So rockness 2013 has been and gone and im glad to say I had an amazing time. Great weather definetly helped but perfomances from fatboy and Julio bashmore were brilliant though above and beyond were my highlight of the weekend. Don't know about anyone else but I much preferred the layout of the campsite this year. Got some great buffalo burgers from a great little gourmet BBQ stall aswell, it was all I eat all weekend.

Rockness gets a solid 9/10 from me this year and the only thing that would have made it better were the headliners

Worst in the 5 years since I have been going! Can tell many titp goers have jamp ship, totally different atmosphere from previous years.

Although the location of the new campsite was superb, but lucky if there was half the amount of people there compared to last year or 2011.

My highlights Fenech-Soler, Reverend and The Makers and Madness. Fat Boy was his usual awesome self as well!

thought the campsite was much more hostile than normal and full of people looking for trouble, seen many people fighting this weekend. compared to the last 4 years I have not once seen people fighting! Don't know why. Few of my pals said it was getting more like titp, or maybe it was just the sun brought the bad out in people lol

In the arena it was usual brilliance although a lot less populated

I didnt see any trouble in the campsite or in the arena over the weekend. Spirits seemed pretty high around where I was camping. Really enjoyed myself, DJ Yoda, Above and Beyond and The Vaccines were probably my highlights.

It was sad to see the arena being alot smaller but I didnt mind the area of the campsite all that much.

My biggest gripe was paying £7 for a bloody lanyard and half the times of the acts were wrong. Ive never understood paying £150 or whatever to come to a festival to see live music acts but having to pay another £7 to find out when folk are actually on.

Really enjoyed the weekend. Weather was a massive bonus.

Small layout worked for me, as I was 60 seconds from good, water, toilets, bars and the arena.

Favourite sets were Basement Jaxx, DJ Yoda, Fatboy Slim, Fatherson and Madeon. Really enjoyed some of the comedy as well; Jim Jeffries was hilarious.

Really hope Rockness is still on next year. Hopefully with a slightly higher calibre of headliners.

Incredible weekend, loved every minute and the weather was just perfect.

Highlights - Mat Zo, Madeon and Fenech Soler.

Saw Jessie Ware, Ellie Goulding, The Vaccines, Redlight, Julio Bashmore, Above & Beyond, Steve Aoki, Newton Faulkner, Skream & Benga, Fatboy Slim, Example, Fatherson, Madness, Ben Howard & Plan B. Enjoyed everyone I saw.

It was my 5th Rockness and, as long as it continues, it won't be my last.

Fatboy was really disappointing...he could have played at least a few more of his tunes. Lack of Praise You and Weapon of Choice in particular was bad....but oh well, cant please them all.

Thought Madness were incredible. Madeon and Example were fantastic as well, both very energetic bouncey sets.

Reverend and the Makers didnt disappoint either.

From a normal T in the Parker, atmosphere was great, everyone really friendly...REALLY young though, I felt. I'm only 20 and felt like half the time I was older than a lot of people there. Drugs a lot more common here than at T as well. Only incident of the weekend was some wee boot trying to kick me in the ribs during Madeon :L

Really enjoyed Rockness this year like I always do even if I didn't see a single headline act. Weather made getting up in the morning so much more enjoyable and feel it probably also helped ticket sales a lot on the day.

Arena was smaller but that didn't annoy me at all however Example closing the mainstage instead of Fatboy Slim was one of the worst decisions ever. Also felt the security was more laid back which I liked, definitely more drugs (not necessarily a bad thing). Main complaint would be not having any toilets in the campsite which just seemed stupid.

Highlights were seeing Above & Beyond at 1am, the Arcadia bug thing (awesome lights) and watching the fireworks from the campsite after a great set from Ben Howard. Will be buying a ticket next year if it's on as I always have a great time even if I don't like the line up.

Weather was fantastic. Got scorched and tanned.

Everyone I saw was chilled out, no neddy violence or aggro. Almost certainly existed, but none that I saw.

Really enjoyed Basement Jaxx, Maccabees,Fatboy Slim (who was playing harsher beats than normal for some strange reason), Alabama 3, Netsky, and the DJ sets.

Sub Club on Friday night was especially stunning - unbelievably funky riffs.

Yeah, lots and lots of drugs. Found a bag with 10 grams of speed right outside my tent. BONUS!

Festival site? It’s more like a bombsite as RockMess ends

By Stuart Findlay

Published: 13/06/2013

The organisers of RockNess have come under fire after a volunteer described the aftermath of disused tents, sleeping bags and rubbish left at Dores as worse than any other festival.

Chloe Hardy, 36, of Beauly, went to the festival site on Tuesday with the Triratna Buddhist Community Highlands to help the clean-up and was stunned at the extent of the mess left after the three-day event.

She said: “It looked like a bombsite. The amount these festival tickets are, they should be able to set up recycling facilities.

I've worked T in the Park.

What happens is the crew scavengers go through tents looking for cash, cameras, wallets, purses, phones, drugs, and other high-value low-weight commodities (you'd be amazed at how much you can get in an hour); then they are scoured for beers and the like, then they are swept up and put into landfill.

I've seen tent clearances larger than the *entirety* of Rockness.

I've also taken down family sized tents, packed them up, and sold them on e-Bay. Now THAT'S recycling. Told the truth too... was festival reclaimed, put-up at home to ensure all the bits were there, and then put on e-Bay with bids starting at 99p. Went for around £40 a tent - fantastic value for a 6 man shelter!

The trouble with recycling all those tents is the TIME it would take. Several thousand tents is several thousand man-hours to take down. They just don't have time or manpower for that.

Oh, T claims some kind of eco recycling. You have to do all the work for that. Nobody puts your tent into recycling for you - it goes to landfill along with thousands of other tents and sleeping bags.
