Glastonbury alcohol email?

Would anybody else like to make their feelings known on the facebook page?

Trying to stop myself from getting into a serious argument with someone on there who I can only assume, is either a complete twat, or actually wrote the email in question....

We've already fashioned a big stick, bubble wrapped at each end, and a massive blanket carryall hanging underneath,. YEAAAAAAA BOOOOOOOZE STRETCHER.

Just a thought, and a wild one at that.... But do you think it could be anything to do with rain being forecast here and there... Overloaded trollies absolutely destroy the ground, and turn the walk in into a mud bath. Just a wild one...

In reference to the email about alcohol that went out to Glastonbury 2013 ticket holders this morning, my personal preference is for people that come to our festival to drink much less!

However, Glastonbury remains the only major festival that allows people to bring their own alcohol in, and you are still OK to bring your own alcohol through the gates, providing it’s just for your own use (whether it’s on a trolley or not).

As I said I'm not taking a trolley this year but have in previous years. Thing is, we usually leave the majority of the beer in the car first time in. The girls stay behind and make up camp (after tents are up) and the lads trek back on a booze run. We are then bringing booze back for others. One look would say we are bringing in an excessive amount but we are actually bringing booze in for a dozen people (16 this year) even though only 4 or 5 of us are making the run.

I just don't see how this can possibly work.

Edit - Ok, nice to see Mr E's response to this debacle.

All this talk of it will be a T&C of the licence is all very well, but in many ways that makes it worse. The licence will have been in place long berfore now... They would have known at the time of ticket sales.

for me the timing of the announcement is the worst part of it.

It's no big deal, I guess the festival is trying to look responsible and also reduce risk of beer sellers on site.

So carry in a few cases before putting them on your trolley and take a 4 pack for the walk back to the car for the rest. It's no biggie. :)
