zahidf
From twitter: 'David Moyes spent 10 years trying to get Everton to finish above Man United. Looks like he is finally going to do it this year' Ha! I think winning this year will be way too much of a stretch. They need to win 3 more matches than Chelsea, and 4 more than Man City and Arsenal. Very unlikely. Top 4 may be possible if Liverpool slip up a bit, but i think that is very unlikely.

thetime
No sympathy for Ashley Young, Man Utd have been happy to benefit from his cheating in the past and today was maybe a case of the boy who cried wolf a few too many times. zahidf
Liverpool aren't the only team you need to slip up. Everton and Spurs are very much in the race, particularly the latter who have kept pace despite a stuttering start to the season and I wonder what could happen if things click. I think however with 18 games left talk of clubs needing to slip up is premature, 5 point gaps are overhauled on a regular basis, particularly when the chasing sides still has to play their rivals for the spot. It is however worrying that whenever man utd look like getting back on track, theres another bump in the road. No sympathy for Ashley Young, Man Utd have been happy to benefit from his cheating in the past and today was maybe a case of the boy who cried wolf a few too many times. Important result for Arsenal today, even in the games where they haven't played well today, they seem to have found a way to win which is always a good sign. I have heard some people mention Bendtners name in terms of worst player in the premiership, while he clearly overrates himself he isn't close to being amongst the worse in the league and may be able to play a role as a squad player for the rest of the season. Liverpool have definitely benefited loaning Assadi this season, with him taking point of potential rivals. However I wonder if they would have gained more benefit from keeping him and investing time in their own player rather than Moses who always looked a bit of a pointless loan signing to me. Maybe its just the benefit of hindsight but Assadi looks like a player who could have added something different to Liverpool, especially with their midfield sometimes looking a bit impotent in front of goal. pink_triangle
I think it could be one of the most interested transfer windows for a while, as I said earlier I think only Southampton are in a position where they can play the season out with little riding on it. With so many teams chasing the title, 4th place or premiership survival, there will be few teams (maybe city, Chelsea, arsenal) happy to go with what they have got. BBC have got their rumours up http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25488699 Some look possible but some look ridiculous eg Casillas/Benzema to Arsenal Balotelli/Alonson to Chelsea Pedro to Liverpool Ramos to Man City Reus to Man Utd Hart to Stoke Forlan to West Ham After me saying that, no doubt one will happen! jammy2211
Massive win for Fulham today, was a weird up and down game where we went from showing our quality that kept us out of most relegation battles in recent years to our fragile confidence left from the ruins Jol left the squad in. Played great after going down a goal early on and were beginning to control things before the Nolan red. Hard to say where it'd have gone against 11 though but overall a good show. Sunderland at home next is huge, a win could really help us start to find a way out of it and with Dempsey back for a few months I reckon we can get back to being very solid at home. Big loss for United, while they can't exactly take Swansea at home for granted they travel to the Bridge after that in the league - could easily be 8 points off Liverpool soon with a Champions League campaign to balance league form with! TheGayTent
Beating West Ham by just a single goal is pretty embarrassing Another game closer to the boring hoofball merchant getting the sack - every cloud...

eFestivals
One more loss post Christmas and I predict Moyes' tenure could be in troublenah, it's not his fault, it's the ref. Don't forget that yesterday's decision against Ashley 'diver' Young when playing a not-very-good Spurs was the worst decision in the history of football - Moyes hasn't seen a worse one, not ever.So it's not his fault, alright?#SixMoreYears Edited January 2, 2014 by eFestivals

5co77ie
It's these scrappy mid table battles which make the premiere league more interesting though...
eFestivals
No issue with the Young decision yesterday. You reap what you sow. Again, Utd weren't actually that bad. Just lacking a bit of punch. But its starting to get a bit late in the season now. Home form is just awful.Utd were probably the best yesterday that I've seen them in Prem games this season. And as you say, they "weren't actually that bad".Which is quite a way from what they'd need to be to stand a reasonable chance of displacing most of the teams currently above them, and is why I just can't see them doing it as things stand today. It's these scrappy mid table battles which make the premiere league more interesting though... Edited January 2, 2014 by eFestivals

jammy2211
What happened to Martin Jol? Always thought of him as a good manager & that Fulham would be a nice fit.. Is it better under Meulensteen? I know it's difficult after such a short time but that hammering from Hull is what sticks in me brain.. pink_triangle
You could normally rely on big Sam to pull a rabbit out of a hat in the January transfer window. Im not however sure that he has the same contacts now, or owners willing to pay the same agent fees. His first move should in my opinion be to get rid of Nolan, his unprofessionalism could be the difference between survival/relegation. LondonTom
No chance, according to talksport Moose this morning Big Sam has said his sticking by him even as Captain. (When he returns of course ). Seems like even Heitinga doesn't want to come to West Ham. (Seems Newcastle might have a put in a bid)
