Have you seen who our new saviour is to be? Step forward Roger Johnson - a player kicked out by Wolves for being a disruptive drunk and currently plying his trade with Championship relegation candidates Sheff Wed...you couldn't make it up !

Here fishy fishy ;)

I've no idea what Townsend's opinion of Walcott is, but if you're correct and he does think Walcott is a great player, then he's wrong. Eusebio was a great player. Walcott is good and nothing more.

As for Capello, he got England to the last 16 of the World Cup - which I think is about right for the players he had at his disposal. As we know, it may or may not have panned out differently had Lampard's goal been correctly awarded - either way there's no disgrace in losing to the semi-finalists and a much better team.

Capello is easily one of the three best managers England have ever had.

that was me stretching things a little with 'great'. He's certainly not an all-time great but within the current crop of english footie players, he's great.

except that he says differently of course.

With his Heskey stupidity, he ended up making Sven look competent.

One of the best? Even Big Sam has more sense than Postman Pat.

Well, I doubt Sam would be mad enough to bring on Heskey to be a game-changing player for the last ten minutes of a match.

It takes a particular type of stupidity to think that, but somehow the guy who you think is "easily one of the three best managers England have ever had" managed to do that.

No, you must be right - the fat hoofball merchant believes he's good enough to manage Real Madrid.

Where as Capello....

...oh

all of which justifies Capello's playing Heskey as a game changer.

(just to be clear, I approved of Heskey being in the squad and being played as he mostly was - they needed someone to hold the ball up for others to run onto. But that's a tactic to play from the start, not something to try to turn around a match in the last few minutes. It was never going to work, and to think that it might takes a particularly high level of stupidity).

"I'm not suited to Bolton or Blackburn, I would be more suited to Inter or Real Madrid," Allardyce said. "It wouldn't be a problem to me to go and manage those clubs because I would win the double or the league every time. Give me Manchester United or Chelsea and I would do the same, it wouldn't be a problem. It's not where I'm suited to, it's just where I've been for most of the time.

No idea why Man Utd supporters aren't calling for Moyes' head and for Allardyce to replace him...

Probably because they think that Capello with Heskey as a game-changer would be the better choice. :P
