thetime
Wenger and Pellegrini moaning about the Mata transfer, have a point or just being arses? I do think the loaning players in the same league is open to debate. It seems only a recent thing that's happened, perhaps I am just noticing it more but I am sure they used to loan them just to lower league clubs. Barry and lukaku is certainly helping city and Chelsea this season. Good thing or rather than the development of the player but to help the parent club? DomDom1984
It's understandable moaning about the Mata transfer, but thems the rules. There's no fair way for a transfer system. There'll always be flaws, so while they're not being arses, the point they're making is a bit redundant. The loan system is great. Limiting it would be incredibly stupid. pink_triangle
Mata is a permanent transfer, so I'm not sure if its comparible. I'm pretty apathetic about transfer windows. As for premiership loans I'm undecided. In one respect it encourages clubs to hoard players they don't need, knowing they can loan out without the player playing against them. However in its favour it allows a club like everton to compete with a club like Liverpool with significant differences in finances.

pink_triangle
Chelsea. They have 23 players out on loan at present. I think that's a disgrace.
kaosmark2
An inevitable consequence of these clubs hovering up any young player with potential both locally and abroad. In most circumstances I.think these players would be better developing at a lesser team but getting game time. When you look at the relative failure of the likes of Liverpool.and man utd youth progression over recent years, they aren't the sure thing that many young players think. lost
England word cup chances just improved.. Oviedo out for Everton with what looks like a double fracture. Foot caught in the mud and went over his leg, one of those where the leg goes all flopping about.. pretty horrible. It seems kind of weird that in other sports the competitors have the build up to their major sporting event meticulously planned out whilst in football they are made to play on what appears to be a swamp with a bit of grass on it. The Costa Rican FA have the right to be thoroughly pissed off at that.
pink_triangle
Sad for the player, but I would be surprised if success/failure for England is dependent on the Costa Rica game.

pink_triangle
Its a tasty draw for Everton with them getting a home tie and knowing only 2 of the big boys will be getting through to the last 8.
kaosmark2
Hell of a stat: Gedion Zelalem became the first player born during Arsene Wenger's reign at Arsenal to play for the Gunners. The German midfielder turned 17 later in the weekend

eFestivals
Saying that, Bit of boost for Man u this tuesday with the fixtures. Either Everton or Liverpool will lose points...nah, it's a nothing in overall terms, because that sort of thing evens out for all clubs.Out of interest, I took a look the other night at the points both Utd and Liverpool got for their last 16 games last season.Utd got 34 points - you know, with their famous strong finish.Liverpool got 30.Which, as it happens, puts Liverpool on 73 points for the last 38 games. Anyone still think they're not a strong enough team to be seriously in the running for a top 4 spot?
