Man City were simply not good enough. You can say it was typical Chelsea, but it's not like they were throwing everyone behind the ball every time. City just weren't good enough to break them. No urgency and too sloppy. Worth noting that Demichelis was much improved in the second half and probably City's most assured player, outside of a mistake with a couple of minutes to go. Silva looked decent when he got the ball, but he's not the sort of guy who's just going to drive at a defence, and Toure just didn't look up for it, while in the first half he was doing what you'd want him to be doing.

Chelsea were good though. Hazard was immense, as were Luiz and Matic. Couple of big saves from Cech. Willian was absolutely woeful though. Nothing he did was to the benefit of Chelsea.

Aye, you have to give Matic all sorts of credit for a performance like that. Still not sure about how many goals Chelsea have in their side and if it'll be enough. I still think the title is City's to lose as they won't play like that often.

I think that's a bit simplistic, some managers are more suited to certain teams than others. While Jose is a great manager he also has an ability to cause problems at a club. At Madrid he split the squad and I can see why Man Utd wanted to look elsewhere.

Man Utd (rightly or wrongly) looking for continuity chose a British manager. Which left Noyes the only obvious candidate, largely due to the lack of other contenders.

I thought he got excess criticism while he was our manager. Following Keegan and not being Shearer (who shouldn't have been appointed either) was never going to be doable, but why would anyone think he was going to be suited to being a DoF? Completely idiotic appointment. He cancelled two planned transfers that were going to happen last summer and hasn't signed anyone properly.

Not sure we're going to get rid of Ashley anytime soon sadly.
