From When Saturday comes:

'I imagine the pre-match team talk when something like:

'OK lads, this is a brilliant plan. We've bought one of the best attacking midfielders in the world who is noted for his skill at unlocking defences with telling passes through the middle, but, and here's the really cunning part, in order to totally confuse Fulham, we're going to just lob crosses into the box all afternoon long. There's no way they'll be expecting it.

Juan: your role is to sit on the edge of the box and when the ball inevitably comes to you fro the defenders' heads, you ping it straight back out to the wing so we can do it again ...and again and again and again and again.

Och, this is going to work so well''

Based on today, i imagine Utd's next signing will be Andy Carroll.

I would happily take a season where we got to the Europa final and got relegated. I don't think there's anything more joyous in football than seeing your team in a long European run.

Not that we've come even close to winning a trophy in my life, I imagine that'd be glorious.

Spurs next 5 games, Newcastle (a), Norwich (a), Cardiff (h), Chelsea (a), Arsenal (h). That's a tough set of games, especially having to combine it with the Europa league. I can see Liverpool starting to pull away. I suspect Sherwood needs top 4 or he will lose his job this summer, the only thing that works in his favour is the fact he probably knows this and may be willing to gamble a bit more.

I hope your right, regarding being way off, we all get some right and some wrong if we stick our neck on the line and make predictions. You did say southampton could make top 4 which is as way off as any of my predictions!

damn damn damn Everton. Lost the game to a dreadful (they're back again to just) one-shot Spurs.

Ah well, that's the way it goes sometimes.

Palace have been impressive in the last couple of months. Pulis was the perfect choice for manager in the position they found themselves. He organised what looked like a very limited squad and they look like they may have nailed the transfer window while others have stood still.

yep - all praise to him. I don't think anyone thought he'd make much of a difference, the squad seemed very weak.
