If you listen to talk sport you know he is the type who is controversial to get a response, to be fair he does this well. To me its not a case of fairness, if they don't get enough points, then tough!

I'm not sure he is wrong however about the crowds for friendlies, will depend how they are priced.

the friendly's that utd might play to make up for lost Chumps income aren't going to be against European teams. They'll head to Asia.

Talking about money and Euro comps, are Barca screwed for the FFP rules now that it's been revealed that they've been reporting false figures for their expenditure?

And if Barca are taking the piss with what they're reporting, then every other major club will be too. They'll all be up to the same tricks.

I don't think many clubs WILL be the same, outside of dealing clubs from the Americas. Doesn't surprise me to see Barcelona jumping all of those different hoops with Santos and Neymar. Not exactly a rare occurance over there.

really?

When a company - Man Utd - moves its accounts to Delaware as FFP comes in, it does so because it wants to hide what's in the accounts.

That's merely the one that's blindingly obvious. I don't doubt that very major club is up to similar tricks of some kind.

Chelsea, for example, have a different plan - which is owning half of around half of the South Americans that play in Europe (including plenty of players who've never been near Stamford Bridge). There's plenty of scope for the dodgy there.

City have the biggest stadium sponsorship deal in the world, for an amount that's not feasible.

Etc, etc, etc.

It's going to take another big decision to bring on more change then. In truth, the Anelka one should have been that decision. There was a lot said about reasons he made the gesture and stuff, but he was found guilty and punished, so surely given the gesture, it should have been severe? And with it not being as severe, surely folk should have been all over it?

the Anelka case is a difficult one. While the gesture itself can't be disassociated from overt racism, it's still the case that plenty of people might use it while not having any racist intent.

It's used both with racist intent and to signify an anti-establishment view - and given that Anelka's mate was getting a lot of establishment hassle at the time of the gesture, it really could have been done to support his mate as he claimed.

The thing is, he was getting that hassle because of his racism, so it was stupidly naive by Anelka at best. Whatever, it's not as clear cut as a Nazi salute would be.

Hilarious article in the Mail about how unfair it is that United won't be in Champions league next year

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2578095/Manchester-United-belong-Champions-League-not-Europa-League-ADRIAN-DURHAM.html

'Instead, they should follow through with the idea mooted last week –United should set up a series of friendlies against top European sides through the course of the campaign.

I would be surprised if these games didn’t attract bigger crowds than Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool get for proper Champions League ties next season.'

'United belong in Europe's elite and it's almost unfair that because of a change of manager, and a tricky transition, they will be denied Champions League football. It's equally unfair that the Champions League will be without United, one of the biggest clubs in the world, and one of the biggest draws in Europe.'

"headpush"

Oh, and the punishment would have been smaller because Ferguson and Mourinho's records in England aren't always at it. With Mourinho's incident taking place in Spain it would play no part in any decision made by the FA.

As for the "headpush", it's just even more ridiculous to hear that shite every time you hear it. He tried to get a sly wee headbutt in there and get away with it. He's been caught and quite rightly completely shafted on it. Deal with it.
