thetime
How does this 'plan B' work? Premier league and the football league are 2 completely competitions, would all the clubs have a vote on any rule changes? Or would it just be the FA who could sanction it? If it's a vote no way will it go through, I just can't see the point of it to be fair.

thetime
I wouldn't be so sure, the lower league were against epp but the premiership bullies forced it through by blackmailing them regarding funding. If the premiership teams feel it will benefit them, they won't be interested in alternative views.
luckysalt
Graham Taylor was just on local radio saying he's been told from a very good source that Villa have been sold, said he was told that we had a deal in place that if we stayed in Prem that the sale would go through. Now this is former 2 times manager, friends with Ellis, still works with the club and local media and supports Villa too. This is the best source out of the club so far. But hey, still have to wait to hear what the main man says. Edited May 10, 2014 by luckysalt
lharris92
I know there's little chance of this happening, but really want to see the title race go to the last 5-10 minutes of the games before its decided. Mainly because it means more entertainment value and the drama it will cause. However only see it going one way which is a shame
pink_triangle
More about this "premiership bully boys" commission1. Supporters Direct and the Football Supporters’ Federation were ignored. Supporters Direct have reported that its submission to the commission was not even acknowledged despite it being sent twice!2. FA Commissioner Danny Mills claims that Hartlepool fans would rather watch their team play Manchester United B team than watch Hartlepool play Torquay. Not surprisingly this patronising drivel was spouted without speaking to Hartlepool fans themselves.3. The commission allegedly ’consulted 650 people from all levels of the game’. Mills again claims that the Conference league was consulted. This was apparently news to the Conference board who put out a statement saying ’neither its chairman nor any other members of the Board of that particular competition were in any way consulted nor were their views sought directly or indirectly’
CHRLY
I'm a a non-league fan and I am currently fucking furious! Why should real fans have to pay for the greed and selfishness of the fa! If you haven't already you can sign here http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/the-football-association-say-no-to-b-teams Also if you use twitter the #againstleague3 is doing the rounds as well as a dedicated account. CHRLY
I'm a prem team fan but have done both, fully support the lower league teams. The fa are a disgrace
adam1234
Thankyou, it really does mean a lot to me and thousands of other fans across the country. I have been shocked at some conversations I have had in the last few days with premier league fans, there is a lot of ignorance surrounding the situation and many believe it's a good thing because of the supposed one positive without even being aware of the consequences it will brings. People are telling me that this B team system works in other countries like Germany and spain as their national teams are the best. I say fuck them. Our league system is the envy of the world and we should be nothing but proud of it.

CHRLY
I have had the opposite experience, I haven't come across a single fan of a premiership club who supports this idea.
thetime
Bayern Munich had 328 fans turn up for there latest 'b' game.
CHRLY
Attendances for the B teams are shocking across Europe. If it goes through (which I don't believe it will) we will have big teams in league 1 (shef utd etc.) playing away games to empty stadiums, makes me sick
thetime
RIP the 56 that died in the Bradford fired 29 years ago.
strummer77
Yep horrible disaster. Tends to be forgotten about, mainly because Bradford normally finish playing by the anniversary. The footage is awful.

strummer77
I would say that's a factor but sadly the fact they are not one of the big British football teams is at least as big (if not bigger) factor, as over time they could not get the exposure that something like Hillsborough got. As with all stadium disasters any unnecessary death is one too many. Edited May 11, 2014 by strummer77
pink_triangle
Even if slightly 'boring', I think it's THE major factor really the anniversary date on that one. I've saw some memorials on since Bradford's last home game, then some today. But no real cohesive memorial for the victims. Which is a shame. Of course the club size does come into it when comparing with Hillsborough/Munich/Ibrox but the former is harder to compare because the sheer weight of what has come out recently has given it an increased prominence in the last few years. Hopefully though we won't see any of their like again.

pink_triangle
Its amazing to see fans of Manchesters second best club so ecstatic to see their neighbours win the title, I wonder if they will go the whole hog and turn up for the trophy parade to cheer them on.
