pink_triangle
k. Football is a confidence game and if someone is in a slump its a risk going with them and if someones is on a high its a good idea to see if that can cross over to country for the national team to benefit
ThomThomDrum
Isnt it also possible that a player on a slump (possibly due to the formation, teammates, managerial style) not suiting him. May find it a release to be in a more favourable form. While confidence is contagious at club level, Im not certain it translates to international level. The last world cup was full of players who went in full of confidence and were poor/average.
pink_triangle
Out of interest does anyone on here gamble on football? I always do international tournaments and the odd accumulator but avoid betting on clubs that I have an interest in. I have also started matched betting on football which wont make me rich but is providing a bit of pocket money.
TheGayTent
Chuffed for the supporters of our East London neighbours. Cracking game tonight and Preston or Rotherham await at Wembley

Andre91
Nasri hasn't made the French 23 despite his best season in a long time. Interestingly I didn't realize until I saw their squad that Scheniderlin was French!

pink_triangle
He said at the weekend that he didn't think he would make the squad. There must be some real issue between him and Deschamps. It also perplexes me why Patrice Evra keeps getting selected yet Gael Clichy does not.

pink_triangle
Out of interest, how much do you make from matched betting? I'm considering starting it, but I dunno if it's worth it.
Gucci Piggy
£200 in 4 weeks, but I suspect it gets harder as time gets on. I messed up with one bookmaker which meant I made a slight loss with them, so overall wins could be slightly higher. My advice if you start would be to focus on the relatively small offer (£10-£25) and just the losing bet returned or matched first bet offers. The one I messed up was a rollover offer which got a bit out of control.

The Nal
This journo isnt a fan of Gerrrard it seems! Well harsh in places but makes a few good points though. Whether it is turning on the tear-taps or morphing into Russell Crowe after the victory over City when gathering his players in a post-match huddle for his mortifying Gladiator speech, his genius is to cultivate this image as Liverpool’s bastion. And a great interview with Vidic here. The most candid to come from Old Trafford this season. Edited May 14, 2014 by The Nal

eFestivals
He basically says he would've stayed if Moyes was sacked earlier!while explicitly saying "we all tried our hardest".Bollocks did they. The difference in effort compared to fergie's time was plain to see - especially in the last ten minutes when chasing the game.Perhaps Moyes was so shit he didn't deserve their support, I dunno. But they tried their hardest? Nah.
Wooderson
Haha everyone's obsession with Gerrard. Chelsea singing songs about him again at the weekend. Hope he misses the penno that loses England the WC just to spite those c**ts.

TheGayTent
What is it exactly that all the fans hate about him? Is it simply because he is scouse? Or is it simply because he is the captain of Liverpool?
