No. Unusually it wasn't Gerrard that cheated that day.

He has been the biggest diver over the longest period of time in the top flight though. He also got his mates to plead guilty for beating up that DJ so that he could get off with his self defence plea. Classy boy is Gerrard.

It depends what you look for in a footballer, he excels in many of the "british" attributes and fails in what I would call the more "continental" attributes. If he had played for a better team he would have won the premiership, but not playing at a better team has made him look better in comparison and meant a team was revolved around him. Its swings and roundabout.

Don't care if gerrard dives or beats people up, I don't like him because his Liverpool's captain and a bit of a prick...

Says it all when his career defining game is against a team from Greece. Although I think that might of changed now...

But he had one hand on the trophy this season and in my opinion, blew it.

madness!!!

Liverpool would have had to have come from 7th and been a record-smashing team in all sorts of different directions.

The trophy might have been within reach, but the actual grabbing of it wasn't ever really going to happen unless other teams threw it all away ... which they nearly did, but didn't.

The simple fact is that Liverpool winning enough of their games in the 2nd half of the season to win the league was just a stretch too far, and that would have been the case for almost any team at any time.

How ever you dress it up they threw it away.

they threw away what no one thought was within range even in mid-January.

Which means it was always an outside chance to a massive extent.

And even when it looked possible, all the talk was about Liverpool having to do a record-breaking winning streak to do it.

Chelsea threw it away more-so than Liverpool. Even City who won it threw it away more than Liverpool did.

But you carry on. You need to grasp a fantasy because you can't handle the reality of 7th. :)
