LondonTom
Collymore joining match of the day, will make a nice change an ex Liverpool player as a TV pundit.
eFestivals
To be fair, he does at least have a personality compared to say Alan Shearer I've just read in one of the papers (not sure which one, had a flick thru them all) that Collymore has been slagging off the UK on twitter, which will be winding up a few people. pink_triangle
Yaya Toure thinks it would be an honour to play for PSG!!! I wouldn't respect him more if he just said he would be honoured to receive the huge amounts of cash that PSG would throw at him.As for Spurs Pochettino seems the common sense choice. Im not sure if De Boer was in the running, but I imagine he would be reluctant as I suspect he could do slightly better.
pink_triangle
Regarding the potential compromise of B teams being allowed in the Johnstones Paint trophy. While a better idea than sticking them in the league, it still potentially takes away these clubs winning the only cup (Im not counting the play offs a cup) that they can. Having seen my team win the JPT trophy the atmosphere there was far better than I could imagine Soton B v Liverpool B ever being and its a fantastic day out for fans who will remember the day out forever. If your going to stick them somewhere, I would much rather they were put in the league cup. Edited May 28, 2014 by pink_triangle
LondonTom
I don't know why they just can't go back to having a proper premier league reserve league if they want all the "B" teams to play each other? Teddy Sheringham seems to be Big Sam's forced attacking coach at West Ham. Happy to see him involved, but I am not quite what to make of it. To me it just seems like the board have appointed a known name to try and keep the fans quiet.

eFestivals
He's terrible though. Not as bad as Shearer, granted, but...........Nah, he's not. What footie needs is less arse-lickers, and no one can accuse Stan of that*.(* unless that's his dogging preference ). ThomThomDrum
Will he be able to do that on a mainstream football show? I very much doubt it. Edited May 28, 2014 by ThomThomDrum
eFestivals
If they wanted another yes man, there's the whole world and its dog to choose from.So presumably they got Stan precisely because he's a bit of a loose cannon (tho a safe-to-broadcast one, as his radio stuff has shown). eFestivals
So.... Pooch at Spurs. How's that gonna go?I don't see it as a bad appointment, tho I'm not sure it's going to make much difference to their top-4 chances - there's just too many teams trying to squeeze into too-few places. LondonTom
Id say thats why the Beeb went for him. ITV have Roy and that works wonders for them.

Last half decent pundit MOTD had was Dixon, and they let him go. It's up to Murphy to step up now.

pink_triangle
Fabianski to Swansea is interesting, mainly because it suggests Vorn may be leaving. Most of the top epl have solid keepers, so I cant think any obvious destination. Maybe he will end up abroad.

eFestivals
Have read previously Vorm being linked with Anfield. No idea whether there's any truth in it or whether lazy journos are adding Rodgers + Vorm = 5.I can't see Fabianski going somewhere to sit on the bench, so my guess is that Vorm is definitely going somewhere.Mignolet hasn't been as good as many might have thought he would have been (me included), and it's at the back that Liverpool need strengthening ... so I can see both Vorm and Williams being at Anfield before the new season kicks off. Andre91
I think Williams will come to Arsenal. Seems like Wenger has been interested in him for ages, and with his pricetag being around £3m (if the papers are to be believed) then it would be a decent bit of business for Wenger. Also, I love how Mesut Özil has been named signing of the season

eFestivals
Also, I love how Mesut Özil has been named signing of the season I'm aware that Arsenal fans are supposed to have hijacked the vote, but I'm struggling to think of who there is who might surpass him as the best. eFestivals
I've never felt he was a top top 'keeper. Was surprised that Liverpool bought him and the size of the fee. Could have got Lloris for the amount they paid for Mignolet (probably less) and he's much better and less prone to errors IMO.SM has been one of the better Prem keepers in recent years I'd say. I wasn't much surprised they bought him (tho I've never been convinced he's any better than Reina overall), but I have been much surprised that he's not been as good as I'd previously thought. Perhaps I'd not seen enough of him previously.I agree that Lloris would have been a much better bet.
