Gucci Piggy
Must be great as a fan seeing your team win non stop for 3 years. Surprised they didn't carry that confidence in to finish at least mid table.

atomised
Very true. In these days of financial fair play any income boost is good
Andre91
So Chelsea have signed Cesc Fabregas! As an Arsenal fan, it will sadden me to see him in a Chelsea jersey. Even though I don't think Arsenal needed him, this will be the biggest mistake Wenger makes this summer.

zahidf
And didnt Wenger sell Viera to accomodate him? And then he left and now hes gone to Chelski. Ouch.
kaosmark2
Fabregas to Chelsea really saddens me. I'm not an Arsenal fan, but I have a soft spot for them and genuinely thought he wouldn't go to another Prem team.

Ok, I've made that one up, but it's about the first player this summer that LvG hasn't supposedly turned down.

zahidf
That's something that I don't understand too well. Chelsea sell Mata to sign Cesc?
atomised
Does seem a strange signing for Chelsea but time will tell
Gucci Piggy
I think it's a perfect signing for Chelsea. They lack creativity other than Hazard, and Cesc will provide that in bucketloads. As a front six, you aren't gonna see much better than: Matic Fabregas Willian Oscar Hazard Costa
pink_triangle
Its debatable whether Arsenal needed Ozil, they definitely don't need Fabregas.
TheGayTent
Arsenal do have greater concerns in other areas...but...but Fabregas would strengthen the team.
Gucci Piggy
But would probably diminish the quality they can bring in in the areas which need strengthening. If Arsene uses the money to strengthen in the correct areas, then he's done the right thing passing up the chance to sign Fabregas. However, if he now doesn't bring in some quality players, the fans are gonna be on his back like never before.
TheGayTent
Yep don't disagree, but is there anything stopping Wenger from selling one of the others to help fund Fabregas? Clearly they're not all like for like but were it me I'd gladly sell one of Cazorla, Ozil, Wilshere, etc to fund Fabregas. He's head and shoulders above those IMO. TheGayTent
There's where we differ then - I think Fabregas is better than Ozil and that's not just based on Ozil's time in England
kaosmark2
I think Fabregas is more suited to English football than Ozil. I think Ozil has the potential to become a better player than Fabregas, but isn't atm.
