I saw that the amount of Asian players has reduced, this doesn't surprise me at all to be honest, the whole Hype of the World Cup in Japan and Korea certainly meant that clubs saw a market for sales etc... after what appeared to be a 'football revolution', which had taken place, just look at Everton, we signed two relative no ones from China, Jersey sales went through the roof, and although both of the pair had barely got a sniff in a year, it proved successful to an extent.

I seem to remember Jamie Cureton going to Korea, expect the Korean fans from the world cup, and him being utterly shocked to see dwindling crowds of 1-2k a game and came home.

In regards to the Russian and Turkish,

Are there many Turks who'd get into a team in the prem? Turan perhaps, but Sahin, their other 'Top' player, couldn't cut the mustard in Liverpool's team. Similar in a way to Korea, Japan and Asia, The 2002 World Cup saw a very impressive Turkish team, and the likes of Basturk, Sukur, Nihat and Emre found that they were at, or were going to big clubs, thus creating a demand (Like Senegal!), inevitably, as they failed to qualify for the next big tournaments, the demand shrunk.

Although there was a turk in the league last year in Jem Karacan, and he's a cracking little player, gutted to see him get a big injury again!

With the Russians, they showed promise again, but who is really good enough to cut it again in the top leagues? Pogbrebnyak, Bilyaletdinov, Pavlyuchenko, Kerzakhov all tried and failed in top leagues. There's stories of the Russian's being very quiet and kept to themselves aswell, which when you luck at their current squad, many of them still play in Russia, and whilst probably some could cut it like Dzagoev, they could end up like Bilyaletdinov, who has vanished of the face of the earth since leaving Everton.

Players like Akinfeev, Anyukov, Makeev, and Rystanov are all well over 150 games in for their current club, and when the Russian premier league can afford to pay Eto'o and Hulk in the excess of £400k a week, why would they leave their leagues for a challenge when they can happily play in their homeland, and earn an incredible wage!

If someone has a British passport and has lived here five years or more, contributing to our society, who the fuck are you to tell them your more of an Engliah citizen than them. You are saying it's more your country than theirs and they shouldn't be able to represent their country.

An England play represents their country. You clearly feel its more your country than theirs.

Its the sort of view you can find being pushed by the EDL, BNP and the Daily Mail.

I hate how football fucks up peoples thinking.

Why shouldn't the English national team be a mirror for the actual society which lives behind it. We have many immigrants living here who do so much for us. Its their country as well and they should be able to represent THEIR country.

"Amdy was with Auxerre in France when I saw them against Arsenal the season before. I made Faye their best player by a long way, so was delighted when agent Willie McKay called and said he was available.

We had him training with Portsmouth up in Scotland for a week and he was different class. I tried to hide him away because others were interested. Then I heard he was heading back to France.

My wife Sandra and I were at a barbecue at my son Jamie's house, but we dashed to Heathrow Airport, dumped the car on a double yellow line outside and ran into Terminal One. I was frantic.

Finding him was a million-to-one shot. 'What does he look like?' asked Sandra.

'He's a very tall black boy,' I said.

'Is that him?' she asked, pointing to a middle-aged Rastafarian with a woolly hat on his head. She doesn't know much about football.

Then I found him. 'Amdy, where are you going?' I asked him.

'I go home,' he said.

'No, Amdy, you can't go home,' I insisted. 'You have to sign for Portsmouth first. Come with me. You come with me.'

I took him to my house and he heard the dogs barking. 'Dogs! I no like dogs,' he said and he froze.

'They're not dogs, Amdy,' I assured him. 'They're bulldogs. They're more vicious than dogs. Half-dog, half-bull. If you try to escape, they bite your b***s off.'

We made sure he knew that the dogs were left downstairs at night. The next day he signed for £1.5million."

Can't be arsed but its the concept that sport nationality shouldn't be transferable, that there are some qualifying English players that are lower than you. Its that mindset you now seem to trying to get away from. To some extent anyway.

I am not having a debate about a debate :P

The only thing I have accused you of is using language similar to a racist, when I said, that is what a racist would say isn't it ? I don't think you are racist. Like I said, I just think football is fucking with your mind here.

You wouldn't talk about not being able to transfer nationality on any other issue. But you are regarding Football.

This Januzaj debate is getting boring.

That said this is a good article on it. I am the least patriotic person going, but I think we have to be careful on this.
