By all accounts Biffy were the best headliner at R&L this year (I only went on the Greenday day). I'd rather Biffy headline than A7X tbh, at least Biffy are have deomstrated they're capable of playing a great set. Every time I've seen A7X they've never been better than 'alright'.

Biffy's recent output has been a hell of a lot better than A7X's though. 'Hail To The King' is an incredibly dull piece of work.

Either way, if Download have got A7X - Biffy - Aerosmith as headliners this suggests to me that other fests have got some big hitters. Soni's supposedly coming back (Metallica with the 'Through the Never' production) and there's rumours that R&L may have Arctic Monkeys - Pearl Jam - Black Sabbath.

Where's that R&L rumour from? I haven't seen it anywhere. There was a rumour that it would be Arctic Monkeys, Pearl Jam and Arcade Fire, and then a separate rumour that it'd be Sabbath. Either way, I think there's no chance of it being Sabbath. Sounds like the tour at the end of this year will be their last.

another website also hinted at it to I think, I forget which one now.

Although they aren't credible at all really, a lot of the bands that have question marks against them that appear on the strictly website actually happen. They've had loads in fact int he previous years than have happened, they have got AF and PJ which I fully expect to be two that aren't correct.
