Seriously underwhelming, so far - lets hope for a more impressive undercard/2nd stage headliners - might be tempted to order tickets then, but, as it stands right now no way .....

It could potentially be a good festival. I am not a A7X fan, but I saw Rob Zombie on the Twins of Evil tour and they were quality. If Download book a good second stage headliner for Friday then I could let the A7X booking slip.

Saturday is poor, I thought Linkin Park were crap in 2011, although the horrible rain did put me in a bad mood that night. Also a poor sub, hopefully we'll have a good second stage headliner, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper? i'd be happy with either of them.

Sunday is good, I like both bands, especially Alter Bridge, still toying on the idea whether to book a weekend ticket, or a day ticket for the Sunday.

Ok so it's not a stunning set of headliners but I'm not too upset about it. I'm going anyway because there aren't any other big rock fests close by in June. A7X and Alterbridge are 2 of the biggest bands around at the moment, Hybrid Theory was a great and ground breaking album and Aerosmith still kick ass on stage. It might not be as busy this time round but that's a good thing in terms of the weekend experience but people are putting it down before the 2nds and undercard are announced. I think there might be a lot of back pedalling before June :)

Meh, disappointed with it so far. I can't believe Andy has booked Linkin bloody Park to headline for the 4th time in ten years, that really is a joke.

I do want to see Zombie but it'll take an amazing & unexpected second stage headliner (NIN, Jane's Addiction, Soundgarden, Placebo etc) to get me there considering Zombie is hit & miss live most of the time & I can't imagine his stage show (which he relies on a lot to get past in live performances) to be much good in the glaring day light of a Download sub slot.

Well I liked Shinedown until I saw them support Alterbridge recently. The lead sing has gone so far up his own arse he's watching his own tonsils. He's lost it completely and turned into some kind of Bono but with socks stuffed down his pants. It was bad enough when they used to get you to shake hands with all your neighbours but his sermon about rock and roll was cringeworthy. And what's with the going off stage between every song, having atmospheric music and lighting like they were practicing using every song as a stage opener? And the set list was like a love sick teenager's wet dream, all sloppy shite. They set the new bar height for cheesiness well above what even Nickleback can achieve. Really disappointing given what they can deliver.

Jane's Addiction would be all kinds of awesome though :)

I reckon a higher proportion of people at Glastonbury would know Pearl Jam than at R+L. However the amount of Pearl Jam fans would be a little higher at R+L because tickets aren't already sold when the line up is out. Either way they'd probably be 'wasted' on both.

literally all the people I know who have bought tickets expect a repeat of this year, Bowie, Kasabian, Foos etc. not Pearl Jam.... They wouldn't know a PJ song if it hit them in the face

its basically a pot luck festival, I'm sure there aren't lots of Pearl Jam fans buying Glasto tickets expecting to see them there

Well if they have purchased in the hope of a band playing there pretty daft.

I'm sure your friends are not a good representation of a Glastonbury crowd, which is a much older crowd than your leeds crowd.

I'm pretty sure they would go down better with an older crowd than a bunch of 18 year old at reading/Leeds. You only have to see NIN and The Cure crowds for that.
