August clashes with Belladrum. Possibly a different audience but I can't see it being a good thing. Sep clashes with Loopallu. Put it up against T in July

Imagine how cold it would be in September especially at night! Last year it was roasting all weekend but it still got really cold at night

They would be very foolish to put it on same weekend as T, they would ultimately end up losers on ticket sales unless they had an amazing lineup

It's more a case of infrastructure. There's only so many policemen, portaloos and transport capacity etc. They probably wouldn't get a licence from Police Scotland to go against the games.

They won't be worried about the games themselves, more likely DF's plans to put gigs on either side of them.

As mentioned, same weekend as either EP or Bestival makes more sense, especially Bestival as they have close ties.

so close in fact that Jim runs the production, doesn't he? (I'm pretty sure that he used to if he doesn't now).

I'd have thought they'd be too much to do for him to try and split himself in two, but perhaps I'm wrong about that.

Both are produced by Loudsound, so yeah technically Jim would need to split himself in 2.

However I don't know the set up of their company, pretty sure they have probably got people who could do one of the sites.

Also not sure of how much time Jims other role takes up with AEG, but must keep him a busy chap!

Quick google of the average temperatures and rainfalls for Inverness in September show not a huge difference at all between then and June.

Should be OK, I think it only switches from 'cold and wet' to 'fucking cold and wet' in October.

"Average" is very misleading. Trust me when I say that September can be far more brutal. I have to put up with it every year. May and June are by far the best months up here. (usually).

Ignore the weather fretting.

The real problem of moving Rockness to later in the year is the midge.

So far my experiences of Dores have been midge-free as it's too early in the season for them. Later on though... believe me... you'll have prefered to have waited 8 weeks to party in the snow!
