Fantastic news that he's playing the whole album. Wild God and Ghosteen are the best albums he's done since Let Love In. Both are beyond fantastic.

It's heartbreaking the pandemic scuppered Ghosteen, but Wild God deserves to be played live in its entirety and I cannot wait.

The fact it will upset the Red Right Hand and Into My Arms brigade is a lovely bonus.

Welcome back @russycarps

Yeah, I think the joy of being full Bad Seeds will win the day

Was trying to figure out - while bored, naturally - my top twenty-five gigs of all time the other day. There's an unreasonable amount of Springsteen in there, but the Bad Seeds in Manchester '17 definitely makes it, and Cave/Ellis in Bradford comes quite close.

This exactly replicates any best ever live gigs list I’d make. I usually add Led Zeppelin & The Ramones/Talking Heads double bill but that’s partly just name-checking.

I am an arena-stadium lover when it comes to that, so a lot of mine tend to be the biggest acts. Largest namedrop I can do in relation to venue size is seeing Bob Plant road-test his Saving Grace stuff in a basement venue under a pie shop in Leeds about five years ago.

Cave/Ellis at the Liverpool Phil is up there for me too.

There is a risk of name-checking. With McCartney last year, pretty much ticked off most of the "classics" or at least a variation on them. (Gilmour in lieu of Pink Floyd, for example.)

Some have defied age - Springsteen - and some have not - Dylan.

But I try not to lose sight of how stupidly fortunate I am that I've got to do these, that I'm alive and in the right place in the world at the right time to achieve these dreams.
