Can't see anything from Lyre/Abbatoir being played on this tour. I think the setlist we've seen in Australia is basically what were getting.

I saw Cohen at the O2 as well and you're right that he was great. I was seated for that gig too. Still not convinced by Cave in there, but I'll obviously take it over nothing.

Yeah, outside of maybe one of them being tossed in here and there - probably Breathless - this looks to be an exclusively prime Cave signature songs mix with PTSA and Skeleton Tree. Which is by no means a bad thing.

Took the plunge and booked to see him in New York over 2 nights. Venue looks stunning.

Bloody hell, that looks like a belter of a venue. King's Theatre?

Yep! Looks incredible. $119 a ticket though!

The O2? <_<

Worryingly I doubt he'd dilute the sales for that one by adding more dates either. Often 'smaller' acts (e.g. not megasize) do it as a one-off.

Unless I'm missing some more dates have been announced/alluded to? Hope so.

Glasgow, Manchester and Nottz seem lined up. Nothing rumoured in the south yet though, which could be explained by the O2 date I suppose.

Wish they'd hurry up and announce this shit though. Nobody trails a tour like this.

I Apparently Cat Power is supporting on California dates. Which makes me wonder - who do you want to see support Nick Cave on an arena jaunt?

Warpaint, Mark Lanegan and Kurt Vile were amongst American supports last time out.

I think The War On Drugs would be my pick. Just one off the top of my head.

Maybe Savages but I couldn't really imagine them in an arena. If he'd done smaller venues like we expected then they'd have been great.

She'd nail it, to be fair.

Hmm TWOD are pushing arenas themselves so I dunno about that one, but I understand it's yr ideal one.

Preoccupations or Iceage or Protomartyr would be some good post punk outfits. On the small side though for an arena tour support for sure. Savages, as Will suggested, would be appropriately sized and pretty cool.

Savages do seem a fairly good shout, down to the mood and everything. Are TWOD really that big yet? I know they can sell out Apollo sized venues last time around but I feel as though their stock has fallen somewhat. Perhaps a Wembley one off, no more, surely Dental?

Well sure they're not gonna make the step up and become a massive arena act but it is possible they'll be taking a similar step to Mr. Cave in future. Their stock ain't fallen, they just stopped touring.

Not that fussed on the support act really. Most of the time it's someone that the booking agents or promoters are pushing init? Could end up a nice bonus tho.

Iceage are fucking pants these days.

Do you mean live? I can't attest to any of that, but Plowing into the Field of Love is fantastic and anyone who disagrees has donkey brains.

I'm not arsed about the support either really. For Cave it's usually just someone off the label isn't it? Can't even remember who it was for the PTSA tour.

Mainly just want to know when it is and how much it is. And also want to get a standing ticket at and a fighting chance of a good spot to see anything. Please.

I know it was a solo female and I only caught the back end. Afterwards I discovered van etten and was gutted cos I convinced myself it was her and I'd missed it but I may be wrong.

She was on stage alone with a harmonium thing the little bit I did see. (In Manchester).

Google tells me it was Shilpa Ray and her Happy Hookers.

In Manchester? Her Hookers were absent then cos she was definitely on stage on her own

Hmm maybe they'd grown unhappy. But yeah that's who it says were there on the review.

Cheers dental. That's the one. I seem to remember it being quite good but also obviously forgettable.

Only Cave support I really remember is Sons and Daughters. And of course Suicide at the forum but that was for Grinderman. What a gig.

Woah that's an amazing double bill. I'm jealous you got to see either of them while they were around.

Savages would be a great support booking! Sure they might be better suited to something smaller but I reckon they could get an arena going as well as anyone in a support slot.

It was pretty awesome. Seasick Steve was the second support and all three bands came back for a mad jam in the encore. Went on my own, got to the front, had a ball.

Yeah live, big time. Not close to the exciting, aggressive punks they were initially.
