russycarps
Was it 'give us a kiss' he finished on? scruffy or nick cave?
Zoo Music Girl
Everything bar this charming man was awesome. His guitarist really murdered that though. Meat is murder and shoplifters were great. Charlie's Who's Charlie? I saw about three or four songs and then my mate, called Charlie oddly enough, texted me to say Radiohead were on in the Park. We stupidly decided to trek across the mud to one of the worst sets I've ever seen at Glastonbury. And then we watched some of U2! Dark day. Zoo Music Girl
What - you poisoned every room in your house? Pulp were awesome! I had tickets to see them at Wireless but went anyway. And then I saw them at Brixton too. Those Park secret gigs tend to annoy me though. Too crowded.
russycarps
I'm thinking scruffy isnt hyperventilating over last nights cave gig as much as I'd have liked here..... Edited October 31, 2013 by russycarps
Zoo Music Girl
Yeah did you see his 'Could have been better' line? Still reeling from that one! Jealous you saw The National. Not that jealous though as I'm seeing them in a couple of weeks. My autumn is an expensive orgy of gigs.
Zoo Music Girl
You got Papa Don't Leave Me Henry and Jack The Ripper and The Mercy Seat and From Her To Eternity and Into My Arms. You wanted City of Refuge too? Just plain greedy! (Says the girl going three times and wishing she'd made it four) I've seen City of Refuge live. Glorious. russycarps
What do you want? Validation? It was ace. He got really into red right hand so don't agree with whoever said he was going through the motions with that. Stagger Lee and Deanna not as good as at glasto which is why I think I thought finishing on Deanna a disappointment although him screaming put down your motherfucking phone into some poor bird's face during stagger lee was brilliant. West country girl was a bit meh but otherwise it was an epic gig. I don't really know god is in the house as not got that album yet but it was beautiful. Could hear a pin drop. No southern ponces ruining it up here. And I think I did a little sex wee during jubilee street and another towards the end of higgs. They are both events rather than songs now. As was hiding all away and Jack the ripper's gone up in my estimation. The song, not the person obviously. Is that good enough for you? hggiUlf e bad that's more like it btw why are you ending all your posts with the names of sigur ros songs? halfhafull hggiUlf e bad
russycarps
Goat are playing koko 2 decemeber and tickets are still available....I just cant afford it sadly. Get yourself down here! (monday night gig though)
Zoo Music Girl
My friend is trying to tempt me to that. I don't think I can justify the expense either but I did really like them at Glastonbury.
russycarps
think it's "only" £15 a ticket, but yeh I think I will be swerving it. I think the fact it was at glastonbury plays a part in why they were so good back then. Also I worry about what the age of the attendees will be. I wouldnt fancy being the oldest whopper there by 20 years...

Zoo Music Girl
I have a question about Koko for anyone who has been before (I haven't). Is it on more than one level? From the website it looks like it is. My tickets are "general admission" so presumably that means standing? Do you think they would have just sold tickets for downstairs? I think it's like that, where you are free to go wherever you like, up or downstairs. Though I havent been to koko in ages so might be wrong

I dunno, looking at photos of it I didnt realise there were 2 upper levels. The first level looks ok, but forget about the top one. Do we know when the gig starts yet? The first level looks ok, but forget about the top one. Do we know when the gig starts yet? See it looks pretty big to me! I'm not sure I believe these 'intimate' claims, I think they just picked it because the venue is pretty. No idea of times either - maybe I'll email the organisers. On Koko site it says times for normal performances but not sure this qualifies. They would be your usual 9pm deal.

I hope it's not a 9 oclock start as stupid sunday curfew means it will end at 10.45 at best I expect. Fucking sunday gigs! My leonard cohen one had to end abruptly because of those stupid religious fuckwits
Zoo Music Girl
I'm going to send an email. They got back to me swiftly before.
Zoo Music Girl
Told you they were swift! Not all that helpful though: "I’m not sure what time the show starts, just that doors open at 7pm. You will need to arrive earlier than that to collect your entry wristbands, see details below. Yes, the tickets are general admission and so you will be able to choose where to stand." I also asked if there was a support but no joy there either. Hopefully it will start earlier. I checked out the capacities too and whoever said Hammersmith was around 5,000 and Koko 1,000 was correct so it is intimate in relative terms. russycarps
so in conclusion they are useless twats. Potentially we'll have 2 or 3 hours to kill in crappy camden on a sunday evening
Zoo Music Girl
I guess they should be able to tell you when you pick up your wristband? I'll be getting there when it opens to get a good spot anyway.

Koko is one main floor with, best described, large balconies.. Nice room, saw the Inspiral Carpets there with their 'new' nasal singer..
