Nick Cave

Midnight Man

I think you might be right. It was inevitable this thread would turn into a "they arent as good as they used to be" thread eventually........

People have been saying that about Cave since the mid 1990s / The Boatman's Call-era.

Glad to see the setlist getting mixed up a little. Hoping for The Ship Song this evening.

I think it was the release of the good son that really narked people off too. I'm sure there's someone that posts on here that was a fan but went off them after the release of that album..

Stupid rehab ruins everything

Ooh it's a beauiful thing to see Watching Alice and Are You The One? on there. No new song then? Maybe he's getting bored of it already?

I think Brighton was great for Nobody's Baby Now mainly. If I could make one setlist up from the two London gigs I went to I'd be most happy with that though.

Just remembered something from the Sunday gig. He introduced Mermaids by saying "This song is going to be a stone-cold classic. You might not realise it now but one day you are going to wake up and just know it." Apparently.

I think the new one was dropped after he saw me say I'm not keen on it.

Mermaids I like, but its not even the best song on the album!

Yeh, brighton got stranger than kindness (granted we got that saturday) AND sad waters AND are you the one...

I hope someone filmed watching alice though

Did they really get all of those at Brighton? Yeah, okay, then that was the best. Home town loyalties and all that.

Why do you hate Love Letter so much? Is it because no one has ever written you one?

Yeh they got 2 extra songs, I was just looking at it then.

I dont hate love letter, just think there are loads of better slow ones he could do. Like, literally any other one he's written.

Now I think about it I dont think I ever have received a love letter. I mean I've written hundreds but never got any replies...

Watching Alice really would suit me down to the ground.

How depressing.

yeh that reminds me, those rotten shits still havent replied to my "when does it start" question.

Sigh looks like it's going to be a whole afternoon spend in shitty camden. I cant bear the place

Who did you ask? Koko? I emailed them too.

I love Camden. It reminds me of my misspent youth. Which I am still misspending as an adult.

Aye it's gonna be a real sweat pit in there.

Have you seen this review of the manchester gig? It's pretty good, especially the beginning where they talk about previous trips the band have made to the city

Just read this review - the intro in particular is really interesting. Think he gets a bit carried away with the adjectives though and I don't really understand the description of "Papa Won't Leave You Henry" as "touching"!

Pretty awesome photos from the Sunday gig here:

aye, the actual concert report was w*nky, but it amused me to see him just go off and get pissed/drugged up with some random nutters :D

he does take a fine photo indeed
