Nick Cave

Midnight Man

Recommended Posts

You people should get downloading from this site. I was listening to the berlin gig, from just before push the sky away was released, on the way to work and it is tremendous. Miles better than the KCRW record I reckon.

There's also a gig from 96 on there:

1. Brother, My Cup is Empty
2. Loverman
3. Mercy
4. Your Funeral, My Trial
5. Where the Wild Roses Grow
6. The Weeping Song
7. The Mercy Seat
8. Nobody's Baby Now
9. Jack The Ripper
ace stuff

You're obsessed man! How much they paying you to promote the site?

I should get involved though.

Listening to No More Shall We Part on way to work. Albums really have no business being this good.

As I Sat Sadly By Her Side is one of his best lyrical efforts. And the violin in Hallelujah shreds my heart in two.

Ah sorry, I meant to add a note saying that post didnt apply to you, due to your peculiar views, and lack of technological ability.

Oh my lord is my favourite on that album I reckon. Shame it contains that dungball love letter...

Every post in this thread applies to me due to the amount of work I've put into this thread :P

Considering a bootleg binge over Christmas though. Do they take up a lot of space? Only gots laptop.

Yeah Oh My Lord might be my favourite too, just hadn't got there yet. Got there on the tube. That song is insanely good.

Dungball? Sacrilege!

not really, I think maybe 100mb per album as they are all high quality mp3's rather than the crappy ones which take up less space.

I guess dungball was harsh, but I do think it's a bit wet isnt it.

That's only because you don't believe in love, you Haddaway fan you.

well maybe that is the case, but come on, it's not very sexy is it? There is far too much begging going on in the song, and all because he said something he did not mean to say! Not like he murdered anyone is it. It's out of character.

Babe you turn me on (for example) is much more my kind of love song. Putting hands down panties and the like.

Not the whiney ball bag in love letter.

I can see where you're coming from. I do think it's quite romantic though. You don't see his sensitive side that much!

I presume it's about his wife isn't it? I think most of that album is. There's a distinct lack of love songs on the new album. Maybe only "Wide Lovely Eyes".

This has all gone a bit off the beaten track in here hasn't it?!

Anyway, back on topic, anyone know when Mr Cave is likely to be next seen on these shores?

I've never seen him, other than the first two songs at Glastonbury - after which I reluctantly went to see Cat Power with my best friend, who' a big fan.

Just been listening to Push The Sky Away again. Cor, it's bloody good innit?

Dunno about off the track. I'm sure Mr cave would approve of a bit of approaching middle age slightly paunchy transvestition to be honest.

I hope you are not in any way suggesting Mr Cave is paunchy! When I last saw him he was a lithe, lean specimen of a man...

Dog Burger, I'd say a UK tour is on the cards for sure next year. He can't do the States twice and us only once. It would just be callous.

Not sure you deserve to see him after leaving that set though.... ;)
